“Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing” In our society there has been many heated debates about animal testing. Many people feel as if animal testing is very important to science, it helps us figure out different things about the body and also helps us in psychology, helping us discover how the brain works. Other people, including the author of this article, Heather Dunnuck, believes that animal testing is cruel and unnecessary. In the article “Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing” she uses all Ethos, Pathos and Logos. In this persuasive article Heather’s first reason why animal testing should be stopped all together is that even though “humans often benefit from successful animal research, the pain, the suffering, and deaths of animals are not worth the possible human benefits.” In that reason she is using Logos and Pathos. The next reason she gave was her own translation of Tom Regan’s words. Heather stated “Animals do not …show more content…
There was a development of synthetic cellular tissue, the author states “ researchers can test the potential damage that a product can do to the skin by using this artificial “skin” instead of testing on animals.” She also gave another way to do tests on the eye “Eyetex this synthetic material turns opaque when a product damages it, closely resembling the way that thereal eye reacts to harmful substances. In another method, in vitro testing, cellular tests are done inside a test tube.” she used ethos because she credited a source for their knowledge, she also used logos because there is reasons why experimentalists should use the other methods instead of animal
companies should stop animal testing. By animal testing, the companies not only violate the animals' rights (which is breaking the law), but their testing methods are hazardous which endanger the animal's life. Finally, the companies should stop animal testing because each year we lose hundreds of thousands of animals and could make a difference by stopping this cruelty. Stop the animal testing, and save a life. To start with, cosmetic and drug companies should stop animal testing their products
Animal testing has been used all around the world, but most countries have put an end to it except for some countries like the U.S. and China. Europe had stopped using animals for testing because it was inhuman and they urge the U.S. To do the same. Some of the testing they do on animals is not even necessary. We still use animals for testing, even though we have created new alternatives, could we really rely on the tests done on animals? Our Government pays way too much money for animals to be tested
Another reason animal testing does not make sense is because we have alternative ways of testing. There are many new ways of testing besides testing on animals. By doing these other types of tests, people can save animals from pain and save their lives. In the article, “Alternative Testing” stated, “some new ways of testing could include ways like using tests on cells, using tests on types of tissues, and using tests on computer stimulations” (Howard). The article, “Ban Animal Testing” stated, “that
First Draft Is animal testing so bad, if it saves millions of human lives and even other animals? Who would you rather be put at risk: Your relative or a common rat? In my opinion, animal testing is necessary because without it, human lives would be at risk. The main reason for animal testing is to cure humans from diseases. This is beneficial to us because we get cured and the experiments are not done to us! Rats and mice are used 95% of the time for animal testing. This is because they reproduce
Argumentative Essay: Animal Testing The world is full of chemicals and companies trying to make the most “bang” for their buck. What most people don 't know is that behind most large manufacturing companies sits poor tortured animals rotting away in cages being used for the experimental needs of humans. In the United States alone 100 million animals are used on yearly bases. (Shell Ethics) Animal testing is NOT needed for any reason-it’s killing animals, it’s cruel, and alternative methods are
Stop Animal Testing Animal testing is unsafe for all animals from around the world; indeed, “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year” (Top Five Shocking Animal Experimentation Facts). Various animal examinations, do not benefit the lives of guiltless animals. These analyses are to prove an element is safe to use on humans. The testing behind theses products are relatively dangerous to all animals. Fortunately, in today’s society, scientists have
Defenseless animals, who can’t defend themselves from others. That are sent to animal shelters because they aren’t wanted or left alone in the streets. Those animals are used for animal testing and are harmed without warning. Their skin is either left burnt, and/or hairless. Why should humans treat animals this way? This article will prove and explain why animal testing is not necessary. Animals should only be a man’s best friend! Animal testing is mainly to experiment chemicals on animals, before proceeding
on animals cruel and unethical, or is it a necessary evil? Those against, argue that animal research is unreliable, archaic and a waste of money. There are many activist that lobby to make animal research illegal. I disagree with making animal research illegal. I agree that we have come a long way with technology, and technology has offered many alternatives to animal research but unfortunately, there are still some circumstances where animal testing is necessary. If we stop using animals in
Animal testing is a phrase that most people have heard but perhaps still unsure of what exactly is involved. Laboratories test cosmetic products and medications on animals to understand how the human body works. Rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters are used for laboratory experiments, which they all suffer during each medical procedure. Those who support animal testing may define it as an experiment that uses animals to benefit humans, where it saves lives and provides vital medical treatment. Regardless
Every year, millions of animals are injured or killed in scientific experiments across the world. Those in favor of animal experimentation say they’re taking animals’ lives to save humans. But is it really necessary to subject animals to torturous conditions or painful experiments in the name of science? Is it ethical to destroy an animal’s life while simply testing lipstick or shampoo? Animal experimentation, like many of the issues we face today, is difficult to argue against, and just as hard
About 800,000 animals are used in the cosmetic industry for testing. So that lotion, foundation, perfume, and everything else in-between was tested on an animal except if it was cruelty free. So what is animal testing you may ask. Animal testing is when products are being tested on living creatures such as rats, rabbits, hamsters, etc, to find a reaction. If they find a reaction that means that that product won't work for us. Animals should not be used for cosmetic purposes or procedures because it is
involve the use of harmless animals. Several large commercial companies do not make products for animals; they decide that using these harmless creatures for the testing of their products, could be cause to be harmful to animals still go forward with these types of procedures on an everyday basis. Although these animals are unable to defend themselves or signs of any form of consent for the near death procedures, these companies find this as a cheap solution for testing their products before placing
what millions of animals who end up in laboratories feel: abused, neglected, hopeless, helpless and hurt. Animal testing is wrong, and I believe it should be banned. Every year, more than 115 million animals are used in laboratory experiments. Within the European Union, more than 12 million animals are used and more than 100 million are killed in the Unites States alone from testing. Because only a small percentage of
now, hundreds of animals are trapped inside of a cage, and scared of the next test they are going to have to endure. Not only do they have to deal with many drugs and chemicals forced into their body, but they are also lonely, afraid, stressed and deserve to be free. They do not smoke, drink alcohol or drive. They do not have the same diseases as we do. Just because we do bad things, why do they need to suffer? The answer is they do not, but we still do this to them. Animal Testing is a global problem
spreading and animal testing is a key part of this research. Animal test is not wrong because it is the only way to keep ahead in the arms race against disease. Disease keep changing and evolving so scientist must keep researching and making stronger, more potent medicines to combat them. Thus we must use living creatures as test subject for the medicines. Experimenting on animals sounds cruel and it is, but the threat of disease out ways the cruelty that is inflicted on the animals. In part, humans
