PROPOSITION: Every Christian needs to be aware of the fact that Satan is trying to destroy all of the families of the Earth. OBJECTIVE: Show the audience what Satan is doing to the family, and how we can overcome his attacks. INTRODUCTION: 1. What is our present condition in relation to the family? 2. What is the spiritual status of our families in this country? 3. In this lesson we will discussed the following points: a. Why Satan is against the family? b. How Satan is attacking the family c. How Christians can withstand Satan’s attack against the family 4. g I. FIRST OF ALL, LET US REALIZE THAT WE HAVE A POWERFUL ENEMY. A. Indeed the Bible tells us that we have a powerful enemy called Satan: B. Notice how the Bible describes him: a. Our enemy (Matt. 13:39) b. The wicked one (I John 5:19) c. The roaring lion (I Peter 5:8) d. The tempter (Matt. 4:2; I Thess. 3:5) e. The hinderer (I Thess. 2:18) f. The old Serpent (Rev. 12:9) g. The accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10) h. The god of this world (II Cor. 4:4) i. The murderer from the beginning (John 8:44) j. The liar of all times (John 8:44) C. Each of these descriptions shows us what he is trying to do with all of us. D. We must not underestimate this powerful enemy. E. He has won many battles over many Christians who live a life contrary to God’s Word. F. Later in this lesson we will consider how we, as Christians, can overcome his attacks. II. WHY SATAN IS ATTACKING THE FAMILY. A. There are many reasons why Satan is trying to destroy every family. Let us consider a few of these reasons: a. He knows God created the family, and therefore, he will try to destroy everything God has created. b. He knows that God has given certain stipulations for the family to succeed. This is why Satan is trying to keep families away as possible from God’s Word. c. He knows that a faithful family is what keeps the world going in a better direction, and for a better influence. d. He knows that a faithful family is needed for the church to continue serving God. Satan knows that children are the present and the future of the church). e. He knows that if he destroys the family, preachers, deacons, and elders will not be available to serve in the church. f. Satan will try to destroy whatever is very good, and families are “very good” (Genesis 1:31). B. Let us open our eyes and see what Satan is trying to do. C. Sadly to say, many families are not aware of what he is trying to do. Let us wake up to reality!
has been defeated in the name of God, and it is as though with his
Satan is the core of Milton’s master piece and no matter how he is interpreted; the overall complexity of his character cannot be overlooked.
Have you ever stopped and thought about what everybody in the world has in common? Family is a very common thing. It could just be a group of people that you care about and love or it could just be a person. Family is always together and family never falls apart. Family is that one group that you love and worry about and it can be that one person. In the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton family is a very important thing. Family is the best blessing to have. The theme S.E Hinton talks about is family always sticks together.
...ty works together for a common goal, all are wicked and deceitful, and would undoubtedly turn on one another. Death would kill Sin, just as Satan would have killed Death, if it meant that he would have remained unharmed. Satan is the father and creator of the family; therefore nothing good can become of the relationship.
Satan is very easy to sympathize because he is more like man than god is, he has more characteristics and feelings that god does not have. He has jealousy, fear, pride and he makes mistakes like we all do. His pride is what got him where he is today, thinking he could take over heaven for the better of the angels. But when has god ever made a mistake? He doesn’t because he’s so perfect. When one looks around it is clear every human around you is not perfect. We all make mistakes, regrets, but that does not mean we should be thrown away from earth. The way Satan thinks, feels, and acts is all very human and that’s one reason we can sympathize with him, because we’ve all been there at one point in time. At an all-time low, that’s we he ends up embracing his future like he should.
All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” (Holy Bible, ESV).
On the evening of May 5, 1993, three boys from West Memphis, Arkansas, were last seen riding their bikes together. In the early evening, Chris Byers' stepfather, John Mark Byers, reported that his stepson had not come home and he was becoming worried. The police were also notified of two other boys who had been with Chris and were considered missing, Michael Moore, and Stevie Branch. The police and the parents of the missing children searched the neighborhood unsuccessfully until 3AM the next morning. The bodies of the three eight year old boys were discovered in a wooded area in Robin Hood Hills the next day at 1:30 PM. The boys had been hog-tied and severely beaten. Their naked bodies were located in a shallow creek in an isolated patch of woods behind the Blue Beacon truck wash. However, the question that remains until this day is whether justice was served in this case. Perhaps you are not familiar with the West Memphis Three, otherwise known as the Robin Hood Hill Murders. Most people would not of heard of this case unless they were citizens of the small town; however, HBO produced a documentary, "Paradise Lost," which graphically showed this case in a different light. This Peabody Award winning documentary brought the story of this crime and its aftermath into the national spotlight in 1996. The implication it left was that satanic panic, public hysteria and media sensationalism was responsible for the convictions in the case, not solid evidence. This is a shattering account of what a fundamentalist community in the south can accomplish toward the blatant destruction of American justice.
Hero can be distinct as an individual who is accepted or idealized for bravery, exceptional accomplishment, or dignified traits. On the other hand, Satan is known as the leader of all wickedness. With these descriptions in mind, one can determine that John Milton’s character, Satan, in Paradise Lost, is in fact the epic’s hero. Although non-traditional, one can determine that Satan is the epic hero because of textual evidence found in all twelve books of Paradise Lost. The implications implied throughout the twelve books of Paradise Lost entail Satan as the hero because of the information Milton provides to the reader about Satan’s actions and results thereof.
...e victims' connection with the devil. I plead with you to band together and stop this injustice!
...ubts himself, has jealousy, confidence and does not know he is wrong when he is; all of which a reader can identify with. Satan is in the same position as human beings under an omnipotent God who has foreseen their fate and yet argues that they possess free will. Both Satan and mankind have a choice to obey or do evil, and that is where they are similar.
Perretti gives the impression that evil spirits can take over anybody that they wish at any time, but as discussed in this paper that idea is not biblical. The Bible tells us that Christians are strong enough to withstand this, it does not speak to those who are without Christ in their hearts, so this may not hold as an absolute truth for them as well. If you do not belong to Christ, you belong to the world, and Satan is the ruler of the world. In my personal opinion, you belong to Satan and all of Satan’s wills and wishes if you are not following Christ.
In society today families are falling apart and getting divorced. Not all families of course but the percent rate is higher year after year. Destroy means “to wreck; ruin” (Webster’s 169). This is what most people would say about their family if their parents were no longer together. In Gilead this is what all families are saying. The government has destroyed the families by taking away the women and giving them to other families like a piece of property.
He fears that if his family converts, then there won’t be anyone to remember him when he dies.
Ask anyone to draw Satan and you 'll get a red snake-like figure with horns and a pitchfork. Satan, as introduced in the Hebrew bible is an unworthy adversary of God. His longing to be like God is quickly recognized and dealt with. God banishes him from Heaven and sends him to Hell. That 's the last we see of him until he talks with God about his faithful servant Job. In each interaction we see Satan in, we get only a glimpse of who he really is. Satan 's motive is not developed and we assume he does evil simply because he is evil
Families provide people with an atmosphere in which to live, grow, and develop. A family culture is established by the parents and instilled in the children during their upbringing. A healthy family is a family which follows a set of strong morals, stays loyal to one another, cooperates, and works together to avoid conflict. An environment where there is openness amongst family members is ideal because minds that are open are more susceptible to avoiding conflict than minds that are closed. If conflict gets the best of a family, it has the potential to increase hostility and create remoteness between family members, however, if a family resolves conflict, it can strengthen and enforce the family relationships.
