I am elated to celebrate Texas Independence Day by preparing my response to your call for the Project Director who will help make your beautiful dream a tangible reality, here in the heart of Texas. After spending the last year patiently watching for a visionary project to appear that matches my own discerning criteria, I believe it has finally appeared in the form of the Pecan Street Project.
Both on an off the field, my enthusiasm and motivation to obtain a goal is a trait that I am very proud of. I have faced many tasks where a leader had needed to step up and I am always willing to do so. I am also willing to get help when I need it. If I can’t complete a task by myself I do not mind asking a classmate, teammate, friend or a teacher for guidance. By bringing that openness and leadership to University of Charleston’s Athletic Training Program I believe that I can also attribute to the University of Charleston’s Mission Statement “to educate each student for a life of productive work, enlightened living, and community involvement.” By bettering the Athletic Training community by providing care to our Athletes I believe that I will be a great addition to the Athletic Training
As an athlete, Elena is one of the best soccer players in the state. She has spent a lot of time honing her craft. Due to her strong work ethic and dedication, she has played multiple positions at one of the highest club soccer levels. During the high school season last year, she scored thirty goals and led the team in assists. She also became the record holder for the most goals in a season for our conference. Elena is an all-conference, all-region, and a potential all-state player for the 2018 season. However, her most impressive stat is that Elena led a team full freshmen and sophomores to an 11 and 10 record, a dramatic improvement over the previous year’s record of 4 and 15.

I have been a four year letter-winner in volleyball and basketball. Athletics have been a crucial part of developing my character and work ethic. In sports, you must work together with your team to reach your goals. Trust and communication skills are vital and are tested every day. The failure and setbacks I have faced through sports have helped me to believe in myself and have the self-confidence that it takes to be successful in athletics and in life. As a senior captain of the volleyball and basketball teams, my leadership has improved tremendously as high school has progressed. Being a leader holds me accountable and I aim to be a role model for younger teammates on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.
Teamwork is the foundation of my strengths. During my time playing junior hockey, I showcased my ability to contribute in groups, adapt, and understand my teammates. My flexibility is another key strength I hold. When others have ideas or strategies I am open minded and willing to use their plan of action. I often avoid doing planned work in order to complete a more urgent activity. Dedication to projects and procedures is another trait I possess. When a task is presented to me, I am determined to get it done efficiently and work relentlessly until it is completed. Through discipline, I am able to improve my work ethic in a strict environment. Playing junior hockey trained me to control my emotions and keep composure in high pressure situations. Finally, I emphasise my ability to communicate in a clear and caring
For the past five years I have been fortunate enough to have a job as a tennis instructor for the Scituate Youth Center. The Scituate Youth Center is a non-profit organization that offers various sports clinics and programs to anyone between the ages of four and seventeen. It has been around for over 40 years, and currently has over 2000 kids participating in its programs. Each program is run by primarily high school and college aged individuals under the guidance of the head athletic director. The members of the executive board for this organization are all unpaid volunteers that are responsible for the facilitation of the programs, and ultimately are the main reason why the organization has had such a large impact on the community.

Some people believe that if their child plays just plays one sport and excels then they will receive a boost in their chances of playing in college or professionally. However, research shows that having kids play just one sport does not improve their chances of getting scholarships it only increases their chances of injuries. Dr. Kris Brickman, the team physician for the athletic program at St. John’s Jesuit High School, indicated “there is no clear evidence that having kids specialize in one sport before age 12 gives them any advantage in development or in acquiring scholarships” (Harris). This shows that kids who play one sport year around has the same chances of getting a scholarship as someone who does not play year
“People are remarkably bad at remembering long lists of goals. One may have learned this at a professional level when trying to get my high-performance coaching clients to stay on track; the longer their lists of to-dos and goals, the more overwhelmed and off-track they got. After graduating college, finding a stable job is often the most important goal one could achieve. The crossroads recent graduates may face the decision between pursuing a job in the academia or the professional world. In order to successfully acquire a job in the academic world, a person should understand and use a C.V. On the other hand, if a person is seeking a job without any serious background, a resume would be appropriate to present during an interview. It is crucial to recognize that there are many divergent characteristics between the two documents. The C.V. and the resume are tailored for different audiences and with slightly different purposes. The C.V. has a detailed list of the subject’s past while the resume only has brief bulleted points about the subject. Additionally, the two pieces differ greatly in their lengths due to their content. On the other hand, resumes and C.V.s are comparable in numerous ways as well. C.V.s and resumes both contain similar information about the candidate. Additionally, the two documents are categorized in a similar manner. Ultimately, the C.V. and resume both are designed to help a person acquire a job in different fields. While the C.V. is tailored for a person seeking a job in academia, the resume helps people find work in the professional world. C.V.s and resumes have their own clear objectives and can be a wonderful tool when it comes to winning a job over the next guy.
For the last year, my sports department in my high school decided to make me the Coach of sport’s team. Millions of children worldwide participate in a multitude of sports, either in school or outside of school. As they grow older, they get better, but some of them stop playing.
