Introduction
Adoption is not about finding children for families, it’s about finding families for children” (Joyce Maguire Pavao). Same sex couples should have the same options as heterosexual couples. Who says that a gay couple can’t raise a child and they come out perfectly fine. Many same-sex couples, after a lot of struggle, have been able to adopt and have changed a child’s life.Allowing same-sex couples to adopt is a powerful step towards success and it helps in many ways, which is why same-sex couples should be able to adopt. Their love for the children is the same as not same-sex couples, there are way too many kids in adoption homes and there is no proof that “bad parenting” happens.
Same sex couples are just like non sex couple they have the same ability to raise a child and I believe they are capable of doing a better job. The only difference is that they are unable to adopt a child in the way non same sex couples can is that wrong or right. Same sex couples already go through so much in this society that they should at least have the right to raise a child. So many people are unable to have children naturally. So why not give the opportunity for gay couples to raise a child in the same way as a heterosexual couple can or will. If about half of all the states permit second parent adoptions then why can’t same sex partners adopt children? There are millions of orphans and making gay adoption legal will allow us to help these kids.

Same sex couples have the ability to raise a child in the same aspect as heterosexual couples. Why is so hard for a non-heterosexual couple to adopt a child or even get married? We all would like to know that answer to that question. I feel that as long as the couple is happy a...

...do you ask because they seem like they would be way cooler than just having mother and father. I know so many gays and lesbian that would love to be a parent and would rock at being one. Are they able to know why is that because people in this society are always pointing the finger saying no that is not right and no they would be bad parents? Well how do you know that if you don’t give them a try and actually place that child in the home with them? I am all for gay and lesbians having children and If they every asked me for my opinion on the whole situation I would most defiantly tell them how I feel about the situation.

Discrimintaion and equality in society is faced amongst people every day. One certain subject that seems to get most of this attention is whether or not homosexual couples should be able to adopt. Same sex couples should be able to adopt children for many reasons. Children that are raised by same sex parents are predominantly taught to be more open minded, have a greater sense of tolerance, and are thought of to be role models for equality in relationships and life. Most would say that these children will face issues regarding their parents sexual orientation, but this is not so. Children of same sex parents have studied to show very few differences in achievement, mental health, and social function as a child that is raised in a heterosexual household. Same sex parents will allow their child to express themselves through different talents and other attributes that there child seems to be indulged in. These children are often showing more loving, nurturing ,and outgoing behaviors that is exposed to them through gay parenting.
In conclusion, it important to be educated about same sex marriage and same sex adoption. Prej-udice and discrimination due to ignorance need to stop. Statistic showed that same sex parenthood is not harmful to the children in any way, the total opposite it can be beneficial to the children because same sex couple tend to work as a team and be more acceptable of what their children want. It is a matter of time before more and more countries approved laws where same sex couples can get marry and have children.
Homosexual couples should be granted the same freedom to adopt children like heterosexual couples because there are so many children in the foster care who need a nurturing home; it is narrow-minded to think that only heterosexual couples have the capability of raising a child properly; and it is prejudice to exclude homosexuals from adopting a child based on their sexuality. A parent-child relationship may be one of the most sacred and cherished gifts in life but it is also a privilege. The main purpose of adoption is not just for the satisfaction of a couple, regardless of their sexuality—ultimately, it is for the well-being of the adopted child.
All around the world there are thousands even millions of children who are waiting to be adopted. Many who are troubled children, and for that reason they are from foster home to foster home. The ideal American "family" is with a man and a woman. In the United States we have same-sex couples who are wanting to adopt, but they are being turned down due to their sexual preference. Same-sex relationships are much more stable than the average heterosexual relationship. Having a stable relationship ensures an emotionally steady home for a foster child. “Good parenting is not influenced by sexual orientation. Rather, it is influenced most profoundly by a parent’s ability to create a loving and nurturing home” (“LGBT Adoption”). Same-sex couples are more likely to adopt “hard to place” children with challenging behavior or disabilities.
...has the right and choice to create a family. Therefore gay couple cannot create their own child, they will have the choice to adopt one. There are many homeless and starving children all over the world wanting to be loved and this is what society can now do since gay marriages are legal.
Since the early 1900s, homosexual people have become increasingly popular and greatly resisted. People that are homosexual face barriers placed upon them by the political system and society. Due to these challenges, homosexuals fought to have the same marital and parental rights as heterosexual people. Same-sex adoption is not prohibited in most states in the United States of America and many places worldwide. Family is not determined solely on blood relations and should be legalized in all parts of the world; because homosexual parents are just as good as heterosexual parents, if not better, and can provide an enriching second chance for many children waiting to be adopted.
Adoption for same sex couples is a very controversial topic in Family Law, and often same sex couples face many unique issues if they wish to adopt. Many states have different laws that apply for gay and lesbian adoption, as opposed to heterosexual couples. Several states also have special rules that apply when a child is born into a gay or lesbian partnership. Gay and lesbian couples may sometimes opt to bring a child into their lives through conception and birth as well. For a lesbian couple, this is usually done through a male donor or a sperm bank and having one of the couple become pregnant. Similarly, gay men may use a surrogate mother and then become a legal parent through adoption. The other parent then can become a legal second parent through stepparent or second parent adoption. However, many states including Virginia don’t allow second parent adoption.
Throughout the years gay adoption has been an argumentative topic on whether it is right to allow it or not. Gays and lesbians should have the same rights as heterosexuals to be treated equally no matter who or what they love. A family that consists of a mother, father, and children should have the same ability to adopt as well as a family with gay parents. If heterosexual families are able to adopt, then there should be no problem for gays and lesbians adopting children because parents who choose same-sex partners should be treated as a “typical” couple should be treated, also gays and lesbians should be not discriminated against and same-sex couples are able to provide any child with food and shelter just like a heterosexual family can do.
Same-sex couples are often labeled as pedophiles to those individuals who oppose their “life-style”, and in some states laws are in place to prevent same-sex couples from adopting any children. The many states that do not have laws in place pass on the decision to a judge, the group home, and/or the social worker on their case. In addition, many sperm banks a...
An estimated two million LGBT people are interested in adopting. Studies say gay parents seem to be more motivated than heterosexual parents because they chose to be parents and adopt the child. There are many different types of adoption, but this essay will only be about 5 of them, each adoption will show that LGBT parents are as capable of adopting and raising a child as heterosexuals are.
Homosexuality is becoming more and more accepted and integrated into today’s society, however, when it comes to homosexuals establishing families, a problem is posed. In most states, homosexuals can adopt children like any other married or single adult. There are many arguments to this controversial topic; some people believe that it should be legal nationally, while others would prefer that is was banned everywhere, or at least in their individual states. There are logical reasons to allow gays to adopt children, but for some, these reasons are not enough. The main issue really is, what is in the best interest of the child? This type of problem isn’t really one with causes, effects, and solutions, but one with pros and cons. Like any other adoption situation, a parent prove themselves to be responsible and capable enough to raise a child on their own, or with a spouse.
The process is very long and very costly. Same-sex parents have even more trouble trying to adopt then opposite-sex couples do. Even some out of country adoption agencies are refusing to adopt to same-sex couples. It is also harder for the gay community to adopt because many people believe that children are negatively affected when growing up in home with two moms or two dads. Florida and other states do not allow same-sex adoption at all. Florida does not even allow second parent adoption (“Legal Issues for Gay and Lesbian Adoption”). Many tests have been done to show whether this fact is true. The tests have shown that children are not affected by the sexual orientation of their parents, but by the quality of their parents (“How Do Children In Same-Sex Adoption
This is due to the fact there are many different inputs on same-sex couples raising children. California and some countries in the United States who disagreed with legalizing same-sex marriage, went forward with trying to amend the state constitution and exclude same-sex couples from adopting children. There are many augments on why same-sex couples should not be able to raise children. According to Crytstal Lombardo (2015), there are pros and cons to same-sex couples raising families. Some of the cons of gay parenting are “Children do not grow in an environment not having well-balanced adults. There are people saying that children should have role models from both sexes”. Although this is a commonly used argument, there has been many researches done to prove otherwise. According to April Martin, a Clinical Psychologist (1998), a child raised by a homosexual parents shows no characteristics that differ from children raised by heterosexual parents. Not only is that the case, if the child is living with one parent who is not open about his or her
There is an abundance of children in the U.S. lacking a home and a family, that of which a gay couple could provide. Some states have legalized joint gay adoption, while others are still on the fence about it, and would rather not pass the law. A reason why those states should pass the law is, because of the foster care system. Many children, whether it’s a boy or girl, can jump to and from at least twenty homes before they turn 18. Some would be against the gay adoption, because they feel like the child would choose their sexual orientation based off what they see their adoptive parents doing. Those people fail to realize that having gay parents wouldn’t affect the child’s sexual preference. Just like having hetrosexcual parents cannot change a child from being gay. Lastly, another reason why gay adoption should be legalized nationwide is because, many people use their judgement from religious background to vote “NO” on joint gay adoption. When the 1st amendment clearly states that there needs to be a separation between church and
Someone is adopting everyday children all over the world. The children wait joyfully for couples to come and adopted them. So If a gay or a lesbian couple goes to adopted a child from a foster home they would have to go though more hassle then a straight couple would.
