Cybercrime can be described as any criminal act that involves the use of computers and their networks. Traditional internet crimes can also be considered as cyber crime. Though various law enforcement agencies are working day and night to ensure that the internet is a safer place for all of its users, hackers and their ilk have also been coming up with new and more complex methods to carry out their activities.
There are many kinds of cybercrimes which range across a wide array. On one side is the violation of corporate as well as personal privacy. Transaction- based offences can be found on a different end of this spectrum. There are also activities that tend to disrupt the normal operations of the internet which can be found on another part of this wide array. Invasion of either personal or corporate privacy may include acts such as attacks on data stored in various data bases and using information obtained illegally for blackmail purposes.
