4Mat Review of Entwistle
The book Integrative approaches to psychology and Christianity: An introduction to Worldview Issues, philosophical foundations, and models of integration, written by David N. Entwistle, was very detailed specific on how the relationship between psychology and Christianity can work together. Although, Entwistle was bringing light to how the two can work together, there are still debates were people with psychology degrees believe that everything should be done on the physical side but “Christianity embodies the true revelation of God to humankind about the human condition and God’s plan of salvation” (Entwistle, 2010, p. 145).
The thing Entwistle was trying to get across was what that although the two had different reason he knew the two could work together for the good of the people. Throughout this book, Entwistle gives light to the thought that the two can work together and with thorough examination of his research, he brought forth both pros and cons from different writers. Entwistle knew that getting the truth out was going to be difficult, but he believed that “our thinking is inevitable shaped by cultural and historical context” (Entwistle, 2010, p73), which gives everyone their way of coming to an understanding to know what should be done right in the eyesight of humanity. In order words, Entwistle believed that everyone should be respected with dignity and respect for ...

...an impede our ability to integrate psychology and Christianity” (Entwistle, 2010, p. 271). I believe that the people in the church has been misinformed for many years on how you can get help on the professional side, because they believe that counseling at the church is the only way.
Living in the 21st century now and in this day and time it is going to patience and trust from the ones who will be entering the counseling field and letting the people in the church know that it is okay to work with psychiatrist as well as pastors in the church. This outreach is going to have to be a joint effort to reach people.
