Understanding the communication process in managerial position is very important. It guides the communicator in conveying the right message to the right recipient. The mode of communication determines the content of information channelled, and where the managers feel that the information is urgent; they will opt for the right means of communicating. According to the case study in consideration, effective communication leads to positive outcomes from the employees work. It boosts the loyalty displayed by workers towards their work positions and enhances transparency and freedom of expression.

Communication is the act of transferring information from one place to another (Means, 2009).There are various categories of communication and more than one may occur at any time. Communication is sent by a sender through a communication channel to a receiver. The sender interprets the message into a form that is appropriate to the communication channel, and the receiver then decodes the message to understand its meaning and importance. Misunderstanding can occur at any stage of the communication process. To make communication effective minimising potential barriers to communication at each stage in the communication process is vital. This can be seen on ‘Effective Business Communication’ (Murphy et al, figure 1.3, p14).
This skill is one of the elementary functions of management in any business and its importance is hardly be overstated. It is a process of transmitting information, ideas, thoughts, opinions and plans between various parts of an organisation.
