In matters of security, risk management involves risk identification, assessment and prioritization while allocating resources so as to monitor, minimize, and control occurrences of the unforeseen events. Avoidance of risk should not be confused with risk management as the two are different. Risk management is a responsibility of all the staff members as it forms day-to-day activities.
