Signs Of The Rapture Essay

Throughout history, people have anticipated the second coming of Jesus Christ. The last days of time are near according to signs that were prophesied by the Lord. Many books, songs, and articles have been written about the end times. Unfortunately, most people refuse to accept that we are living in the last days. The Bible has forewarned its readers to be on guard at any moment. There are signs of Jesus’ return everywhere which proves that this generation is living in the last days of time. Some of the signs include The Holocaust and the Nazi’s, the rise in natural disasters and the Mark of the Beast, and preachers only preaching good news gospel, the violence of today’s society, and open and flaunted homosexuality.

In the book of Matthew, Jesus asserts: “Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places” (Matthew 24:4-7 712). Wars have dramatically increased from 29 in the 15th century to 278 in the 20th century. Famines have grown from 6 in the 15th century to 44 in the 20th century. Also, earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.0 or larger have risen from 2 in the 15th century to 123 in the 20th century. The startling rise of these three signs pointed out by Christ, himself, forewarn that the Rapture is drawing close. One of the most widely recognized references to the coming Rapture is the Mark of the Beast. According to the Bible, “He [The Anti-Christ] causeth all . . . to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name] the Bible does not specify any aspect of this mark other than it be on the right hand or forehead. Considering the technological advances of today’s society, along with the vagueness of the description of the mark, who is to say that it could not
It is rare and fleeting. One possible cause of this is the overwhelming sensitivity of people today. Preachers have to be very careful not to offend members of their church because individuals tend to disregard information that does not please them. According to Christ, “The Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14 712). Churchgoers only care to listen to the good news that the Bible holds, pushing preachers away from hellfire and brimstone. Before our technological advances, the gospel traveled solely through word of mouth. Now, the Gospel is preached all over the world, and delivered through thousands of ministries. Our sensitivity and technological advances are foreseeing these prophecies true. One contributing factor to this refusal to listen to the hard gospel might be the rising presence of bad news and violence in todays society. We are living in the most violent times, though it may not seem so because of desensitization. The perspective on violence has drastically changed due to the simplicity of taking life. The advances in weaponry have changed the act of killing from running a sword through someone to simply squeezing a trigger. The book of 2 Timothy states, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3 865). Media sites
