A person’s right to die has always been a large subject discussed amongst millions since the late 1900s. There are many supporters as well as opponents for this subject. In this essay, I used two main sources which can be found later on “works cited”. Earlier this month, in California, California’s governor Jerry Brown passed the right-to-die bill. This bill allows terminally ill patients to ask to have them go to death, instead of wait for death to come to them. The patients would receive enough painkillers to cause death from physicians. This is used in the military during war when a soldier feels so much pain after getting shot numerous times and is about to die. They would inject the soldier with so much painkiller as a last resort tactic to try to keep the soldier alive a little longer in order of attempt to saving the soldier.

You’d have to go through two oral requests for the prescription – which is also two weeks apart. One of the oral requests is in writing. Last year, my government professor, Professor Bonavita was talking about a 29-year-old teacher, whose name was Brittany Maynard who lived in California at the time had inoperable brain cancer. She was in her last stage and she was in tons of pain. She moved to Oregon to die. The right-to-die bill was not passed back last year, and one of five states that had this right was Oregon. She didn’t want to commit suicide because then her family would not receive life insurance money, and so the only legal way for her family to receive life insurance money and for her to choose her death would be to move to Oregon, and complete this process, and so she did. Her decision was discussed widely throughout US. I searched her up, and found out that she was a very beautiful women.
