Amongst the three means of persuasion, this commercial is using ethos. Ethos is usually linked with good sense, good moral character, and goodwill and it is believed that the considered commercial contains all three. The commercial had an overall warm, domestic and countryside feel to it. The commercial attempts to appeal to the audience’s compassionate side. It goes without saying that it takes a strong person, a dedicated individual, and a hard worker to be a farmer. Dodge (which is that car company) is drawing from that point. They want the viewer to trust their vehicle with the same level of trust that we put into the farmer. We also have faith in our farmer that he will provide for us. Dodge wants us to have faith in its truck’s performance just as we, the consumer, have faith that the farmer will provide for us.

The chosen commercial is trying to sell a Dodge-branded truck. However, this fact is very unclear until the very end of the commercial and it is thought that this is partly the reason why this commercial is unconvincing.
Who is the target audience of this commercial? What led you to this decision?
To answer the question of the target audience Dodge aimed at, Dodge was looking to connect with an audience of 35 years and above that has more income to spend on vehicles like the Dodge Ram. Dodge used the Americana feeling to connect with its strategically decided-upon consumer in this spot.

...hat helping others can result in a good feeling on the inside, so it would be difficult to imagine that someone would take another view from helping others from the video. This can be seen as the video not only shows the good actions, but the results that happen, such as the girl going to school. Globally this would probably be pretty successful in getting the thought and feeling across. I believe that this ad is believable because of the techniques used to produce it. Helping others in little ways can have big payouts emotionally. Making the world a better place is something that many people are interested in doing, but often feel that they are unable to do anything about because they are just one person. This shows that the actions of one person can add up and is positive for the company because people want to know that they are dealing with a company that cares.
