The world that I come from begins with the history brought upon me from my mother and my father. My world has all started in the beginning from my mother’s history. It was held at the time where the revolution of Nicaragua has sparked while my mother explained to me my ancestry as well as her travels. During the Nicaraguan revolution, my grandfather, Acquilles Cortez, was a nurse during the war. He has served during the Nicaraguan revolution as well as the Vietnam war. At the time, many villages and cities were being pillaged and ransacked. Though this revolution lasted even longer, my mother, Marylene, was around elementary school age. She told me that my great grandfather(her mother’s father) owned a ranch with several types of animals. She told me how each piece of land was taken care of from my great grand father’s children. My great grandfather also owned a large ranch house similar to a mansion really. My great grandfather had his children inherit the land after him, one of those children would be the main caretaker looking over the land. Until the communist soldiers arrived at their ranch; they have killed many people: from maids to workers, including my great grandfather’s son, in ways that I shall not describe. my father never had much of an education, only an education on how to work hard. My father was one of 16 children, he was the son of a both wealthy and intelligent father. My grandfather was the owner of much land, the husband of many wives, and the father of many children. He whipped his children into shape on how to become diligent, wise, and stern both figuratively and literally.
