I'm sure everyone has seen them. The pants so tight they appear to be painted on. But then they realize, they're not actually pants, merely relatively thick tights masquerading as pants. Suddenly they're thinking, surely these women forgot to put on the bottom half of their outfits. Notwithstanding, this abomination was completely intentional. Women are now wearing leggings in the stead of pants, which is one fashion trend that our community, and the world at large, could do without. Although undoubtedly comfortable, and completely acceptable when worn under dresses, skirts, long shirts, and shorts, leggings are not the most flattering article of clothing when worn in lieu of pants. When worn incorrectly, leggings draw attention to the negative aspects of the wearers body. People can see every jiggle of the thighs and butt, every dimple of cellulite, and every crevice of a person's anatomy. Generally speaking, most females would not want to promulgate these details of their bodies, but todays young women apparently thrive on displaying them for the world to see.
Leggings started making their comeback to the fashion scene in 2004. Initially worn under dresses, leggings gradually worked their way from being the accent to an outfit, to the focal point. It would be one thing if the only people who wore leggings as pants were six foot models without an ounce of fat on their bodies. However, women of all shapes and sizes appear to have deemed this fashion trend acceptable. Now, I am all for loving one's body, but just because someone loves their body, does not mean everyone else should be able to see their entire body, via their skin tight pseudo-pants. People who are pro-leggings as pants might argue about the comfortability factor...

If I can get penalized for showing too much shoulder, the younger generation of leggings as pants wearers should be punished for detailing their anatomy through spandex. Sure they're completely clothed, but when it comes down to it, I would rather see more skin and less detail. Since this trend is starting so young, we need to bring it to the attention of high school and middle school administrators. Hopefully, the changing of the dress code to eliminate leggings as pants will stamp out any desire to wear them in the younger generations consequently having the trend die out completely.
Leggings as pants is a horrific trend that has plagued the young women of America for the past several years. Notwithstanding, most trends die from the fashion world soon after they explode onto the scene. Here's hoping leggings as pants gets shot soon.
Everyone will have to make their own decision if they still want to buy LuLaRoe leggings or not. There are also a lot of leggings out there that have things in inappropriate places, but these seem to be random mistakes.
I feel that in today’s society that men are discriminated against for the way they wear their clothes, specifically, their pants. For many guys sagging your pants are a fashion statement, although many people perceive individuals sagging their pants as “bad” individuals. As a kid, I did wear my pants below my butt, but as I grew older, it gradually raised. I am a professional person, but my style and my comfort have my pants lie just below my hips. I wear a belt, but having my pants all the way above my waist makes me extremely uncomfortable. Even for my wedding, I had to have my pants altered, because tuxedo pants only sit high on the waist. I find it hard to have a law against someone’s choice of fashion, and that one could get fined in some states for sagging your pants. It seems a bit discriminatory when some women can go out barley wearing anything and get fined. The sagging pants law should be eradicated because it is discriminatory and a waste of resources, and instead left up to the community to decide weather they would like to provide services to people who sag their pants.

The purpose of this document is to analyze a proposal introduced by a common council member to ban “saggy” pants with enforcement of a fine up to $500 and or jail time of up to 30 days. The council member argues that constituents in Albany have complained about the pants being worn below the buttocks, and this style of clothing has created a sense of fear. I will provide a brief history, further identify the problem, demonstrate the criminal justice implications of the policy, provide an alternate solution and conclude with my decision to support or decline the passing of a bill and why.

Though sagging looks hideously ridiculous there is some history behind it I bet many of you do or don't know. For instance According to Greg Mathis, sagging was adopted in the United States prison systems where belts were sometimes prohibited to prevent prisoners from using them as a weapon or committing suicide by hanging themselves but that style was later popularized by hip hop artists such as snoop dogg and others in the 1990’s.
Life is full of distractions and, for high school students, inappropriate clothing has the potential to grab much attention. However, does the matter of clothing warrant strict rules? I agree that, like alcohol, the students’ attire should have rules regarding whether or not the choices in clothing are suitable for a public school setting. Some people think that this is an offensive fashion due to the origination and some people considered the clothing style public indecency. There are more dress code policies for the females compared to the males. For example, girls should not use backless shirts, no spaghetti tops, no crop-tops that exposes the stomach, no short shorts, no miniskirts, etc. Boys on the other hand have no specific dress code policies. Dress codes may come off as sexist for women and they get insulted by it. The first ones who wore this fabric are workers in the California Gold Rush era, designed by Jacob Davis because of its sturdy material that withstood the harsh working conditions. Not just them, even sailors from Italy use this material too as their sailing uniform. Then, it started appearing as an actor’s apparel, and that’s when denim started to become one of a fashion item. People started wearing jeans as part of their daily apparel and even adding their own ideas, such as studs and colouring it with different shades of denim. It doesn’t only stop around that era, but today, they are seen everywhere and has become a major clothing piece for almost all of the age groups. As a reference, we can see young children already wears jeans as part of their clothing, the teenagers added jeans to their wardrobe, and even for the seniors, they consider jeans as a simple and comfortable clothing pieces.

Your first day of high school you were more than likely wearing jeans too. From the day you could fit into them to the other day you were walking to class you’ve been wearing jeans. It’s become a part of our culture to wear jeans. They are our go-to articles of clothing when it comes to just about everything. Whether we are going to hangout with our friends at the mall or take a girl out on a date, jeans will always be fitting to wear.
