If you are thinking of restoring a vehicle there are many things to remember before you start. First, it won't be cheap by any means, nor will it be fast. It will take lots of work and you should be prepared for the long haul. Also there is many hidden surprises along the way, but at the end it is worth every hour and dollar invested in it. To restore a vehicle, one must understand how to remove, refinish, repair, and replace both interior and exterior parts (Classic Car Restoration for Dummies.)
On some vehicles it maybe better to remove the body of the vehicle from the frame. this will require unhooking everything from the fire wall of the vehicle. Sometimes this will take lots of time. remember to label all the wires when removing them this will help in the reinstallation process. Also the steering column must be removed from the vehicle and all of the dash. The restoration process of a vehicle’s exterior can change dramatically. If the vehicle that is being restored, was out in the elements most of its life it will probably caught a case little rust. Sometimes if a part is to rusted it will have to be replaced because it couldn't be repaired.
