Many countries and the United States included are facing the same energy problems today. We all need to do our part and keep the Earth clean to make sure that the non-renewable energy lasts as long as possible. Today we are facing problems locally and globally with energy and making sure we use it as effectively as possible while still making sure it is clean as well.
There have been many issues with our energy supply and it is clear how fast we are burning through them. We will soon have to rely on our renewable resources if we keep continuing to use our non-renewable resources at this rate. The three main non-renewable resources are coal, oil, and natural gas (Consumption and Efficiency, 2012). These resources are being used for commercial buildings, transportation, residential and electrical power generators (Consumption and Efficiency, 2012). The energy is being consumed for homes, businesses and for transportation of services or goods (Consumption and Efficiency, 2012). There are 3 major types of renewable resources, which are wind, solar, and hydropower (Consumption and Efficiency, 2012).
The policy that would be put into place would include a gradual decline in the use of oil, natural gas and coal with an increase in the uses of solar power and hydropower. This policy should not only be effective but in the United States but for the entire planet in general.
“A hydroelectric power station converts the kinetic, or movement, energy in flowing or falling water into electrical energy that can be used in homes and businesses (EDF, 2013).” Hydropower can be generated on a small scale that uses natural flowing rivers to turn the turbines or on a larger scale using a dam (EDF, 2013). The generator then passes th...

...ats (The Hill, 2013). In 2012, President Obama signed a plan to invent $2 billion dollars into researching advance technology for electric vehicles, fuel cells, biofuels and natural gas vehicles (The Hill, 2013). On the other hand, Republicans in the United States are set on using oil and other natural resources so the recommendation of reducing the use of oil would not be in their favor.
This policy if implemented, would be more cleaner and efficient than the use of natural resources like now days. At first the costs will more than likely be greater, but with the decline in the use of oil, gas, and coal, the benefits will be greater than the costs. Once the use of fossil fuels are diminished and renewable resources are the main sources of energy than the United States and the planet in general will become a healthier and cleaner place for everyone living on it.

Renewable Resources For Renewable Energy Essay

- It’s only a matter of time before the non-renewable resources we know of cease to exist. This planet has revolved around fossil fuels as its primary energy source for decades, so what would happen if they were to run out. Because experts project that we will exhaust the Earth’s known non-renewable resources by 2088 if recycling doesn’t improve, we must expand our use of renewable energy including methods such as solar, wind and several other types of energy sources (Ecotricity). Non-renewable resources are defined as any natural resource that exists only in a limited supply and cannot be replenished in nature at the same rate as they are consumed....   [tags: Wind power, Alternative energy]

Renewable Resources : Renewable Energy Essay

- Renewable Resources The sun exists as one of the highest abundant sources of energy. Yet the world neglects to implement solar technology as a dependable resource. Daily, Americans make the switch to solar energy and cut dependency from local utilities. One of the greatest advantages of harvesting solar energy stands that the sun shines for long durations throughout the day and the sun rises every day; hence, reliability. Other natural renewable resources are available such as hydro, wind, geothermal, biomass and nuclear energy....   [tags: Fossil fuel, Wind power, Global warming]

Essay on Renewable Energy Resources For Renewable Sources

- Why do we need to rely on renewable sources. Most of the energy that we use today come from fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, and oil. All of these resources are non-renewable, it can finish one day. In order to have a better world and a healthy environment for the future, people are trying to obtain energy from natural resources instead of non-renewable sources. In the lecture “Renewable energy resources” (2014), Mistry focuses on some advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy. There are different kind of resources that we can use in order to produce renewable energy....   [tags: Renewable energy, Wind power, Fossil fuel]

Essay on Renewable Energy Resources: Solar Energy

- Solar energy is a fast growing energy resource among the renewable energy resources in the market and potential for solar power is huge to contribute towards the power demand almost in all the countries. The solar irradiation and temperature are mainly depends on the output power produced from the PV conversion process. Hence the maximum power point of PV array is tracked to maximize the efficiency of Photovoltaic system. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) control system in general is taking care of extraction of maximum power from the sun light....   [tags: solar power, fossil fuels]

Renewable Energy And Energy Resources Essays

- After the Industrial Revolution with the massive human activity the demand for energy; that is the ability to do work or in other words move the machinery, become intense. Driven by the profit, and with little or no knowledge about the damage caused by the combustion of the fossil fuels the humans started to use massively this nonrenewable source of energy, mainly the coal. Nowadays we are suffering from climatic changes caused by intense burning of fossil fuel, however this scenario can change with the growth of the usage of energy generated by renewable energy resources (McLamb 2011 6)....   [tags: Petroleum, Fossil fuel]
