Since the origin of life on earth the question of religion has always existed. What is religion? The word itself comes to us from the Latin language and means to unite. Religion unites the human mind into one union. According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, religion is anything that has a significant importance to a specific person or society. In the case of this definition, anything can be considered as religion and it could also be said that everyone has a religion. This statement could be true since everyone finds something in life to claim as important, for some it is family. All over the world, people have different views of what they believe in, which is why there is a continuous disunity among humanity. ...body works in miraculous ways and the bible tells them that he exists. At the end of it, there is no concrete evidence to prove anything. The problem that I have with Maher is the way in which he goes about trying to prove his theory of religion. It was not successful because instead of actually wanting to know the truth he is more focussed on making fun of religious folk. Some ways in which he does this is by cutting people short of their explanation and laughing hysterically in their faces and putting sarcastic comments on screen while people are talking belittling their thoughts. For someone like Maher who does not believe in religion, he is also arrogant about it and refuses to see things from other peoples’ perspective. All of this shows that he is biased because nothing they say can change his mind, he believes what he wants to believe and everyone should too.
