In an essay of 750 words explain the relevance of autocratic,democratic and laissez faire leadership styles to the effective running of an organisation.

Strong leadership is key to be able to establish performance direction and leadership success. Different situations need different leadership or management styles to help them achieve their target. The main difference between leaders and managers is that leaders have people who follow them while managers have people who work for them. I will now explain the relevance of 3 separate leadership styles and how each one affects the running of an organisation.

To be an efficient and successful leader, the leader must asses the situation they are in and be able to decide which leadership style would benefit the organisation that they are running. There are 3 particular leadership styles which have all been proven effective in various ways. A few factors what would apply to all leadership styles could be things such as motivation,strength and ambition. If an organisation lacks any of these things the group members would be unenthusiastic and the organisation would be non successful. An effective leader must have
Laissez faire is known as a hands off leadership approach where workers have little direction and guidance from there leader. The staff are given total authority and independence and are trusted to make decisions on their own. This leadership style would be most effective when staff are highly skilled or educated and they can be left to do the job at there own pace. This provides positive effects on job satisfaction for the workers. Although workers satisfaction may go up and workers may be experienced, some are just not capable of working on there own. Lack of guidance from the leader could leave workers feeling like the leader is not concerned about the task there fore they express less care for the task
