The internet can be a dangerous and treacherous place. Even though that is true, it can also be a very helpful resource and a great place to share your creativity with the world. You can share your ideas with people halfway across the world, collaborate with a friend that lives in a different country, and write a song with a family member in England. This access to the world and information of all kinds leads us to adventures, fun and scary (https://www.google.com/).
Think of the internet as a really big Walmart, about the size of New York. Information about cute bunnies are to the left about an 1 hour away and gaming videos are about 30 minutes upstate. The world wide web is a big place but its a good thing we have at least one way of organizing each and every little thing that gets on it. Search engines are a way of collecting information from all over the world that has been submitted into the wild jungle of the interwebs at one point in time. The ultimate book is in our hands. We all used it to make our presentation and to check our Facebook notifications. Google, one of the most well known search engines in the world, helps us each day. The thing is, it was all started by a couple of college students (https://www.google.com/).
1995, Larry Page, a 22 year old U Michigan graduate, meets Sergey, 21, who is assigned to show him around Stanford. Later that next year Larry and Sergey began to work on a search engine, also known as BackRub. BackRub ran on the Stanford servers for a little over a year eventually resulting in taking up to much bandwidth. Google.com finallly came up in 1997 on September th 15th. From help to harm, the internet is the most advanced machine that clicks and clacks each and every second you read this report. It is bigger than the biggest book anyone can ever imagine because its growing faster than anything can grow. Its becoming a labyrinth that even Daedalus couldn’t control.
