The reflective model I shall be identifying my learning development needs with is, Gibbs (1988).
Description
Previously, before accepting my position on the primary and early years course, I was an aspiring social work student. Due to personal circumstances early this year, I made a difficult decision in changing courses to pursue a career that would be more beneficial and centred around my positive attributes. I was worried that I was not academically capable of becoming a primary school teacher.
Up until this point, my new learning journey at the university of Huddersfield has encountered a range of academics in the education sector, core curriculum knowledge, learning style questionnaires and also an academic integrity test. However, the most valuable learning so far has been my placement. I have particular enjoyed my placements as I am able to create an ideology of my own teaching pedagogy, that is linked to my own personal experience. I believe that learning in practice is beneficial because, it creates an idea of how I shall time manage my university assignments and also block placement in February.

I shall continue to read news reports and literature on the state of education in the UK and also worldwide, in doing so I hope to create a perspective on what an ideal classroom should look like in order to achieve a rich learning environment that enhances the development of pupils. I now appreciate the importance of time management and having a balanced work life. As a teacher I know I will be spending many hours marking, doing displays, planning lessons and believe it is import to use my time sensibly and focus on work that is valid to my student’s
