Reflections on Intro To College Writing.
Writing has always been a key to the person I am today, I 've been writing sketch comedy and stand-up comedy for about six years, and recently I 've been working on writing music. I love writing because it is an umbrella term that cover so many different things, I learned from this class many of the things that writing can do. For example, in the first text I read, Nick Walker introduced the idea of a “Neurodiversity Paradigm Shift” I found this piece of text truly inspiring because it showed a minority that many people really never give the time of day. WRA 150 Reflection Overall in WRA 150 I believe my writing has reached a new level. In this paper I will like to reflect on my learning in this course. While providing evidence to back my claims. This course has taught me many things that I wasn’t able to learn before reaching college. During this course I found myself being intimidated. Being a student coming from an inner city high school. I wasn’t sure what to expect, for example when it came to writing a nine page research paper, I was unsure
Intro to College Writing Reflection/Final Over the course of this class, my perspective on money and whether it makes us happy has changed. Before the start of second semester, I always believed that money did make someone happy, as most of my most memorable experiences are linked to money in some way. But, after reading several essays within the assigned class textbook, I concluded that was not the case. For example, in the short essay What’s so Bad About Being Poor, by author Charles Murray, he
“The Love of Learning,” by David McCullough (intro) How many bricks are on the Great Wall of China? Who invented the Frisbee? All of this information is quickly found through the use of a search engine. Overuse of the internet as a source of learning, and the lack of the pursuit of knowledge through classic literature is what caused McCullough to state, “ The value of information, facts, figures, and the like, depends on what we make of it-on judgement. But information, let us be clear
Strategic Dialogue in Collaborative Learning The tutorial interaction in writing centers provides beginning writers with an essential element not found in other types of student-helper interaction. Unlike the usual colloquium that occurs in most classrooms, tutoring offers a one-on-one setting whereby a student can directly consult with, discuss, and turn to an experienced peer for help with as many steps of the writing process as possible. This unique setting offers a chance for tutors to address
