The film poster, at some point, also underlines the utopian impulse and endorses hope. The image of Tip and Oh the Boov sitting on top of the car against the evening sky and looking at the setting sun strongly contains the utopian energy. As if they are waiting for something to come, something which has not yet happened, the future, the bright future. The image of the sun always illustrates hope. Even if the sun is now setting, tomorrow it will come back with its brightest light. The film title, Home, sort of reminds us to the homeland, a term Bloch invented to refer to the condition where one is completely aware of who and what they are and what is more important is that they are free from alienation (1376). His past experience apparently has made him value hope more. On their escape from the execution, Gribble and Milo are stranded somewhere. As Milo reminds Gribble that his mom does not have much time, Gribble seems to have lost the spirit to continue their plan of rescuing Milo’s mom for he does not want to go up and get killed by the Martian. However, Milo all of sudden calls Gribble with his real name, George and takes Gribble’s old T-shirt out. Gribble is surprised and takes the T-shirt from Milo and he starts to cry. Gribble tells Milo how his mom gets abducted. He tries to show Milo how unfair life is to him for he was a good kid. Gribble was too late to save his mom because he did not what the extracted machine done to his mom and what he knows is that he was too late to save her. At this point, Gribble realizes that Milo has no idea on how the extracted machine works. Milo does not know that the machine will eventually kill her mom. Gribble does not want this to happen. At least, it does not happen to his friend, Milo. Therefore, Gribble makes up his mind and agrees to continue the plan to rescue Milo’s mom. In Blochian perspective, the way Gribble changes his mind is related to the development of the most important expectant emotion, hope. Gary’s House, Debra Oswald, features the story of an Aussie couple facing the reality of adversity. Oswald has represented common beliefs and representations through the four protagonists mainly focusing on Gary and Dave. Many beliefs and values in the book symbolize the dominant stereotypes of an average Australian. Oswald explores the concept of an Aussie battler and how it perpetuates and challenges the common stereotype of Australians.

When several films, including “A Raisin in the Sun” and “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn,” make the focus of films working for and acquiring his or her dreams, despite being made almost twenty years apart. A main factor in these films typically comes motherly support. Many times, you see the mother sacrificing her wants and needs in order to help her children succeed and achieve their dreams. Since the theme is common over time, it is relatable to the audience of the films and is a way to capture the audience and keep them focused on the film. Due to the similarities in both the theme of the role of the mother and achieving his or her dream, it can be shown that over decades, these themes remain constant, though the dreams, race, gender, and stories can change.

Home is related to this increase of freedoms for African American citizens in the United States, when they were becoming working citizens instead of slaves. When African American started to gain freedoms they were allowed to join the army and other establishments. This story reflects the American Dream by showing that you need to believe in yourself to accomplish goals or tasks that you set for yourself. Also the importance of home and family play a major role because Frank would stop at nothing to get his sister and to get back home.
Home, home has different meanings along with its deffinition. The deffinition is a place where a faminly resides, but when you say home it usually gives an impression of a warm loving happy place. Or it can also mean an institution for people needing help.
It is a common theme throughout history that children “owe” it to their parents to do right by them by any means necessary in return for the parents years of hard work, personal sacrifices, and parental obligations to the child; whether that be through personal sacrifices or simply lending a helping hand. Modern philosophy attempts to disregard the ties of family entirely in order to prove that children do not voluntarily ask for sacrifices of their parents, or even the more dramatic claim – “life.” More conservative philosophers such as Christina Hoff Summers defends the moral duties of the more traditional sense of family and the personal morality involved in the family unit. The ideas presented on the tradition that family duties are stronger bonds than those of friends could potentially affect the overall quality of life in adults. In this paper I am going to argue that the traditional sense of family and its duties are stronger than the duties demanded of friendship.

In the thirty years since its release, Alien has become a film of various debates amongst film theorists. Academic analyses of the film draw attention to many differing themes, most popularly with feminism. Most critiques, academic and otherwise, ultimately conclude that Alien is a feminist film because of its representation of the workplace as a home to equality and a place where traditional gender roles have been obliterated. What is ultimately revealed by Alien is the anxiety of men during the era of second-wave feminism in which the film was produced. This film provides a step forward for feminists, but imagines men taking two steps back in equality.

Some changes are subtle, but some events force major change within the family system. This paper applies the concepts of systems theory to the family system in the movie Sweet Home Alabama. Reese Witherspoon (Melanie Smooter) and Josh Lucas (Jake Perry) star in this heart-warming film telling a story of a young woman who flees from Alabama to reinvent herself in New York City as a high fashion designer. She leaves behind her redneck husband and white-trash upbringing. Melanie finds herself engaged to the cities most eligible bachelor and has to return to Alabama to request a divorce from her first love and confront her past ("Alabama," 2002).
Home is considered to be this place where you live permanently with your family, a place of comfort. When a character or a human for that matter embarks on a journey all they really long for is to return home to their family and loved ones. Thus, their homecoming is an important aspect to heroes in a fantastic journey. In the Epic poem The Odyssey performed by Homer and in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey we are able to obtain these very different notions of home. The main protagonists of each work have a different approach towards this notion of home. The protagonist Odysseus is constantly urging to return home to his family. In contrast, Dave, the protagonist is embarking on a journey in which he knows there is a big chance that he won’t return home.
Everyone is born into some form of family, with the family taking the responsibility of nurturing, teaching the norms or accepted behaviors within the family structure and within society. There are many types of families, which can be described as a set of relationships including parents and children and can include anyone related by blood or adoption. Family is the most important, “for it is within the family that the child is first socialized to serve the needs of the society and not only its own needs” (Goode, 1982).
