English 112 Journal – Reality, Identity, Creating a Perfect Life
The newly anticipated Harry Potter film is arriving soon called “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them”. Recently, I’ve been viewing an abundant number of wizardry films. The most intriguing magical object that caught my eye was the “Mirror of Erised.” The Mirror of Erised displays an individual’s deepest, most desperate desire of the heart on the surface of the fragile mirror. Obviously, everyone should know the purpose of the Mirror of Erised because “Erised” spelt backward is “Desire”. I often an unaware of what it means to be happy, and I am still in the journey of obtaining happiness. As a result of humanity consisted of unique and diverse individuals, every human being has their own definition of what it means to be happy. The happiest man on Earth would look into the mirror and see only himself, exactly as he is. Objectively, this is impossible because the happiest man on earth does not exist. As human beings, we possess the ability to desire and we utilize the ABILITY TO DESIRE or wanting something every day in our lives. As a result, we can never be satisfied in our lives.Happiness is a dichotomy of sadness. Sadness creates happiness by being the opposite force to happiness. Without the difference between both of them, neither exists.

What it means to be human is to be imperfect. Goodness, why am I using such large words and why am I being so philosophical. Wait am I minute? Why I am even here? Oh that’s right, to get an education in order to attain prosperity and happiness. But I never thought that university would be one of the most stress inducing and overwhelming experience I have ever felt in my life. It’s only been the first week and teachers are ...

...n the morning. There is nothing wrong with that. As human beings, we are dreamers and it is okay to be ambitious and achieve our dreams , but it is also essential in life to be positive and refuse to take a single day for granted.

I used to think that sometimes, good would happen or eventually, a bad day would transition into a day full of enjoyment. I must train my eye and teach myself that things never get better until I am able to transform my perspective and make in effort in seeing the beautiful in the mundane. Surrounded by a negative atmosphere, I must practice latching onto the positive encounters I have witnessed and experienced within my life.

Talk about taking a gap year and knowing yourself to obtain prosperity and be happy.
I still don’t know what I want to do in life..

- The concept of culture and identity has been described by many sociological explanations which define socialisation as a process of learning culture and shaping identities.
