Further, Marzano gives the reader action steps in order to implement a curriculum. One of his steps is for teachers to present content in multiple ways. It is imperative that teachers realize their classrooms are diverse. Therefore, teachers must provide different experiences for students to master content. According to Wiggins (1998), teachers providing performance tasks and rubrics are vital to student learning. Students need to know how they will be graded. Lastly, Stiggins and Chappuis (2012) say teachers should collect evidence of student learning. Providing this feedback gives students and their parents an indication of their learning.

As I read Section Two of What Works in Schools and discussed the material with my peers, it was evident that effective teachers have several of the same characteristics. We agreed with the action steps presented in the text and even added some vital measures which would directly impact our individual schools.
