Racism is known as poor treatment of, or violent actions against people because of their race. Racism is such a cruel thing, to think racism is one of the biggest issues in America since the 17th century, when African Americans were forced to become slaves. African Americans were taken from their homelands, and their families, they have been subjected to harsh cruelty, they have been belittled and their freedom has been completely revoked. We are now living in the 21st century, today racism is still known as one of the biggest issues in America today, people continue to discriminate other Americans due to their race, or their historical background. Martin Luther King Jr. was the man to fight for equal rights, he believed everyone it does not matter if they have a different color or come from a different race he believed everyone deserved the same equal rights. The definition of racism depends on where,when, and how the racism is being used. All through history, groups of people have been stereotyped. Racism is a major issue in the world today, many people are not aware of how much racism still exists in schools, work, and any other places where social lives occur around. It is about time that people notice that racism is such a horrible thing, and realize it is time to make peace within one another. Racism has been caused through numerous of effects, so many ignorant people become racists due to the fact that they lack the amount of knowledge when speaking about races. Racism has not changed in America, and it is time it changes, change for the better.
