Race discrimination in America has always been a touchy subject. The history of racial inequality has created continuing challenges for all Americans. One of those challenges is racial discrimination in the workplace. Racial discrimination in the workplace occurs when an individual is treated differently based upon their race or ethnic background. Many people believe that race and color are basically the same thing but the two are not synonymous. Color refers to discrimination based upon a person’s pigmentation or complexion. Race discrimination occurs if an individual is treated differently based upon their association with members of another race.
