During the first weeks, I thought that I would be fully prepared for this course after taking an accelerated course in English during the spring semester. However, after attending class for about a month, I certainly did not expect to learn an entirely new process of writing
If a student is bounced around from one writing prowess to another, it can cause massive confusion and possibly stubble them upon the wrong track. Taking the right path is a must when trying to perfect proper English. The First Year Writing Program teaches the correct steps a student should take in order to learn English more effectively. The program offers two separate classes: English 1101 and English 1102. The first class being English 1101 will teach the applicants how to become a better reader, thinker, and communicator by requiring them to construct their own topic using narrative and descriptive essays. English 1102 will be a more difficult challenge because the professors will assign every peer in the classroom the same topic. This will compel the students to research the assigned topic, and they will use evidence found to support the facts in their upcoming expository and persuasive essays.

Reading this tip in the article reminded me of the similar strategies that I have recently read in two self improvement books. The first book titled Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy. One of the strategies the book talks about

Every time I would send a document up to my company office to be reviewed and submitted, it would be kicked back. Not because it was the wrong format, the wrong letter head, or not the right information. It was because of my writing abilities. Being in the Marine Corps, I never had the need to use proper writing styles to get the mission accomplished. All I needed to know was how to shoot, treat a wound and lead my fire team. But once I started being promoted the need for myself to start writing and typing grew. So I took this class to gain knowledge about the writing process, and how to better my writing abilities.
