Risk management and risk assessment are also part of this discussion because of the connectedness with industrial and manufacturing processes in organizations. In the manufacturing industry there are few examples regarding the use of safety and quality risk management, but these are not comprehensive especially in the context of countries other than developed and western (Salaheldin, Zain, 2007).

In this assessment, I will be explaining and justifying the method used in my metalwork shop. I’ve divided the potential and more common hazard in four areas: Machinery, Manual handling, Electricity and the workshop are in general. Below each heading, my justification, according with local policies and legal requirements, is written and explained.
In a culture of safety and quality, all employees are focused on upholding quality in providing safe care. In order to promote patient safety in the hospital setting there should be an exhibition of teamwork irrespective of the different leadership positions. However the leaders show their obligation to quality and safety, and set capacities for their employees to perform a committed and critical role in assuring patient safety.
It would also cause economic losses for the country, therefore, reducing the rate of accidents could potentially save the country billions annually (Hayes et al, 1998). It is important for companies to create safe workplace to build the positive workers’ perceptions of safety on their jobs (Hayes et al, 1998). According to the research, less accidents tend to occur if employees perceive their jobs safe; and higher accident rate if they do not (Harrell, 1990). Since KI has decentralized the management process, it may not have a clear view of the working environment and conditions for the workers among the subsidiaries. KI also may not know the workers’ perceptions on the work safety. It is critical for KI’s management to conduct series of measurement on the workers’ perceptions of workplace safety first and embrace new provisions of workplace safety into the company code. In order to so, the management may need to understand how the workers feel and think based on the results. In additional, KI may require compliance and commitment from its subcontractors for the new workplace safety practice, which would benefit both the MNCs and
Accident in the workplace is largely caused by lack of management control. Nowadays, people often think about ‘safety is expensive’. But then, try an accident. What price should be tag? It is must not be forgotten that there are pros and cons to this situation. A single unsafe act, condition and environment may or may not cause an accident by themselves. However the unsafe of an individuals’ act or condition could still be caused by lack of management. Therefore, management’s responsibility for controlling the unsafe acts of employees exists briefly because of these unsafe acts occurs in the course of employment that management creates and then directs.
...any as they say that they review the policy at least annually to add any necessary adjustments or to reflect on matters at hand. The above regulations such as RIDDOR that I have stated all come under this health and safety policy to ensure the employees safety. This means that additional measures will be taken to prevent any occurrences of injuries. The extracts from the policy documents show how a regular company in the construction industry would set their policy and with some typical key points being used. This document for any company shows us what they establish to be important to them about health and safety and if they do not comply with their own statement, then it can leave them liable in a case of injury. If they do not follow the procedures they have been legally set and what they have set themselves in the documents then this is a possible outcome.
As a matter of fact, statistics about casual factors of accidents and incidents in complex work places absolutely show the human contribution not as a lack of skill, but as miscommunication, inattention, physical and mental work load, poor situation awareness, bad decision making, ineffective action planning, inability to deal with stress, emotional load, and organizational dysfunctions (Reason, 1990; Dekker, 2005). All these elements have generically been classified as “human error” and could be due to lack of organizational well being. They contend that project risk management should start from these issues in order to assure safety for the workers and employers. More specifically, they think that all safety oriented project should take into account the cultural and organizational environment in which it is supposed to be

The purpose of this article is to study “who is responsible for worker safety, and how can this be reconciled with civil and human rights”. In manufacturing industry, occupational accidents and injuries are usual and unable to avoid. However, the rate of occupational accidents and traumatic injuries can be reduced with implementing some programs for the surveillance and prevention.
Any work stoppage can affect the production and goals of the company. Imagine an automobile manufacture that has faulty equipment. The faulty equipment could cause serious safety risk to employees and damage to the vehicles being made. One would think that once safety risks has been identified, managers would automatically address the safety concerns and fix the equipment. However, in the automobile manufacturing industry safety is often overlooked.
Finally to conclude this report, the safety management system in an organization is very important as this forms the basic framework on how the organization works, maintaining safety. The four pillars (main objectives of SMA) are that ones that lead the organization in that direction. From the accident, the four pillars application will benefit the organization but however if the SMS has been a part of the organization even before, accidents as such would not have occurred in the first place.
The construction industry is one of the main engines of growth of domestic economy in Malaysia. Its cyclical growth is a barometric reflection of the economic climate, experiencing accelerated expansion when the economy is booming and sharp decline when the economic system is on the downside. Normally, the production of construction products is a risky, complex and extended operation. The full development of a construction project normally consists of several phases involving a diverse scope of specialized services (Abdul Rahim, n.d). Development of safety for personnel in construction environment is realized as a major factor for tranquillity of staff and should be adhered precisely in accordance with safety regulations. Despite the automation, the building industry is nevertheless founded on labour intensive, while working environments are frequently changing and include several different parties. The construction workers are one of the most vulnerable members in a project and are confronted with a broad assortment of hazards during their work (Aref, 2012).
A candidly of risk occurs in every organisation. Governance principals and the occupational health and safety urge that the organisations take reasonable measures to hinder loss, charge or rage to the organisational and all stakeholders/management. Injury and accidents can even happen ultimately with stringent OHS and the fact that an accident when occurs, does not mean that someone is liable if all responsible steps for prevention or minimisation has been taken.
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (1919) defines Industrial accidents as non-natural disastrous occurrence leading towards loss of life, property, social disruption and environmental degradation caused mainly due to dangerous procedures, infrastructure failures or certain human activities. Various operations in an industry are cited as dangerous therefore, safe operational guidelines are provided, and certain standards are set by the regulating authority. Moreover, the ethical behavior of every employee in the seriousness of operation also contributes towards safer work environment. Failure in any of these may lead to a mishap in an industry.
Lately, the issue of occupational safety and health has become a major aspect to each of the management in each organization.
