Lagos- is city, which is located in the coast of West Africa. Lagos is the most

populous city in Nigeria. In this essay I am going to critically examines push and

pull factors in Lagos.

Lagos is Nigeria’s industrial, commercial and financial center, so Lagos in

comparison with other cities in Nigeria has higher income. And in Lagos there is

large stock of oil. Oil production, which began in the 1950's, increased seven-fold

between 1965 and 1973, while world oil prices skyrocketed. By 1978, metropolitan

Lagos accounted for 0% of Nigeria’s external oil trade. (Lagos, Nigeria). Lagos is

estimated to count for over 60 per cent of nation’s industrial and commercial

establishment, 90 percent of foreign trade and controlling about 80 per cent of the

total value of the imports of the country. It benefits Nigeria’s oil, natural gas, coal,

fuel wood and water. Also about 70 per cent of the national industrial investment
