STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Qualification: B-Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering) I always believed in the fact that we never finish with education as long as we breathe, or to put it in tangible terms, life is one endless school session, a continuous process. I opine that education and training are not only in the long term interest of oneself, but also the overall development of the society. Thus, the dictum of expanding ones know – how through continuous learning and discovery has always enthralled me and is the sole motivating factor which persuades me to thrive for higher education. The decision to pursue graduate studies in Electrical Engineering is one of the most significant decisions of my career. My thought process for graduate studies was not made in a day nor a month or a year but was backed by my passion for Electrical Engineering all through my schooling and undergraduate study. Right from my childhood, I had a strong proclivity for understanding the working of electrical equipments such as my radio, television, telephone etc. I was fascinated by the small chips that can perform wonderful tasks; later on knowing a little about it I was marveled at its capacity to accommodate millions of electronic components in it. This continuous query leads to a thirst for VLSI and as a result I have concentrated much in this field but my thirst was not quenched even in my undergraduate studies. I have realized that only a graduate study will serve the purpose. An undergraduate course though comprehensive in its curriculum, provides limited scope for specialization. A fascination for Science & Technology and keen interest in the ever-growing world of technology motivated me to take up engineering. People travel miles in search of their true passion; some find them early in their life and I consider myself lucky enough to be one among them. I found my true calling at the age of 12 on a field trip to a milk factory. It seemed like the Disneyland of science with huge machineries, conveyer belts running all around, and instruments working about in their own rhythm with sheer intricacies and perfection. As a kid, I was eager to understand the mechanics behind this magical rhythm. The desire of gaining in-depth knowledge about Control System and Automation eventually led me to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering as my undergraduate study.
Education is an infinite learning process that plays a vital role in modern society. Even now, without a higher education one cannot even get a simple occupation such as a sales clerk, carpenter, or custodian. From writing checks, filing taxes, driving a car, to budgeting groceries, all involve the pre- knowledge and basics of reading, writing, and calculating. Higher education is very important to the success of a person’s career goal. To avail all benefits and acquire a proficient education, one has to take the learning process as a solemn one.

I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
