There are thousands of colleges to choose from, and for many students, the perfect college is a state university. One reason for this could be based on finances (public school being cheaper than private, also in-state tuition), the unwillingness to venture far from home, or maybe even the fact that you were such a die-hard college sports fan that you can 't picture yourself pledging your allegiance to another team. It doesn 't matter what your rationale is in attending a state school; all that matters is that you enjoy yourself, while at the same time receiving a great college education.

State universities are publicly funded, offer both graduate and undergraduate programs, and usually have large enrollments.

Getting Used To Campus Life

Things should start getting easier for you after your freshmen year of college. For starters you 'll be able to live off campus; if you want to stay, you 'll be able to choose your own roommate. If you pledged to the greek life you 'll also have the opportunity to live there. As you transition from under to upper-classmen your class sizes should get smaller more one-on-one time with your professor! At this point you should also know the campus like the back of hand: you 'll know the best time to get lunch, the most secluded areas on campus, which professors are more lenient.

You 'll make your friends, discover the things your good at, and become a member in a few clubs. You may even discover that you 're more of a leader and may decide to start your own club. It may take a few weeks, it may even take a semester; but, before long you should be well accustomed to being a student at a public university. And you 'll enjoy every moment of
