“Hurairah!”, “Hurairah, it’s time to come inside my kitten!”
Hurairah didn’t want to leave the rock where he was hunting. There was an army of marching ants just begging to be attacked. But, his human was calling, again.
Hurairah’s human was nicknamed Abu Hurairah (RA) by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Which meant, Father of kittens, in cat speak. Hurairah felt like a very special kitten to have his human named after him. Hurairah loved Abu Hurairah and followed him wherever he went.
Hurairah pounced on the ants. His tiny paws batted at them sending them scattering over the large rock and rushing away. Satisfied, he sauntered happily over to Abu Hurairah and followed him into the Mosque.
The walls of the Prophet’s Mosque are made from date palm trees and shade is given by a roof made of leaves. The floor is sand with only a few mats of woven palm leaf to rest on. Most of the humans sat on the sun heated sand closely listening to the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) speak.

He spent the rest of the afternoon watching with interest as the new Mosque visitors heard a message that every animal already knew.
That evening Hurairah sat under the stars on his favorite rock. He could hear Abu Hurairah reciting words revealed by Allah in the unlit mosque. His best cat friend, Asad, jumped up next to him and made himself comfortable on the rough rock. Asad was a scruffy old cat with gray and white fur. He was curious and liked to question Hurairah about what the Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him) taug...

... is nothing equal to Him in power. There is nothing like Him” Hurairah finished as he yawned widely.
Sitting up Asad leaned over to nuzzle his head against Hurairah’s much smaller one. “I’m glad, he said in a soft voice, “that Allah will always care about cats like me. I’m glad he will always be there. I am thankful that he has given us humans to show us kindness.
Hurairah thought about his human inside the mosque. He was also thankful that Allah had sent a messenger to tell people like his human that he was a Unique God. So that, humans may also know and love Allah like all the other creatures Allah has made and put on Earth.
Hurairah said goodnight to Asad and jumped down from the rock. Walking inside the mosque Hurairah curled up at the feet of his owner, Abu Hurairah (ra), and listened to him recite the beautiful words of Allah until he drifted off to sleep.
