As students studying the professional field of human services, several may currently be employed within their field of interest with the hopes of advancement. Whereas, on the other hand, others may not be currently employed in their desired field but have the hopes of gaining employment within that field. As a result, as a student who has the desire to be a service to others as well as protecting their civil rights and safety, Maurice Williams, the former director of Treatment Foster Care, would be gain one’s interest. However, as it relates to Maurice Williams and the Treatment Foster Care, some of the challenges and/or problems that they were faced with is that when in the time of crisis, problems need to be solved, the morale of the social workers must be maintained so that they do not become tired and burned out, as well as understanding that the responsibility of everyone in the agency is to be the eyes and ears of the agency. Williams stated that he and the administrators at the Treatment Foster Care are considered to be crisis interventionist (Laureate Education, Inc., 2011). Therefore, Williams’s everyday concern is based on solving programs such as overnight disruptions, hotline issues, the overall operation of the agency in regards to recruitment, and the well-being of the foster child which also includes the credibility of the foster …show more content…

In other words, from hearing and listening to his staff, Williams can now use his authority and/or supervision to create improved methods on solving certain issues and problems. Also, by hearing and listening to the feedback from the foster parents can also assist with any modifications that needs to take place as wells. This in turns might prevent the problems from recurring within the organization. However, regardless of how many changes takes place in regards to policies and procedures there is still bond to be some type of conflict. Therefore, it would beneficial to teach the staff to identify problems so that by the time that it gets the supervisor’s desk they will already be aware of the issue and will have the ability to handle it before it gets out of control (Laureate Education, Inc.,
