W.E.B Du states “the problem of the twentieth century is the problem of the colorline…” The colorline is still very much alive in the twenty-first century, it is actually getting worse in my opinion. We are all equal, color should not define who we are as humans. I believe everyone is equal no matter what color you are and what you believe in. We all live in one world, why hate your neighbors because they are a different race. If you can be proud of who you are then so can others even if they are of different race. We live in a world if you are of color you are not accepted. You are instantly judged, almost as if you do not get a chance to prove who you are. There has been posts about African Americans rubbing the American Flag on their butt as if it was toilet paper. Americans do not agree with the photos and it has started a worldwide issue. Also there were photos of African Americans stomping on the American Flag. Some Americans took it so offensively that had commented on the photos “go back to Africa.” Yes I believe the pictures were unnecessary and disrespectful but does not mean you need to say “go back to Africa.” White people commit crimes too. Why isn’t there any comments on where white people should go? Where are white people supposed to go if they mess up? Even when Mexicans commit a crime, people say “go back to Mexico.” They shouldn’t have to, we are all guilty of doing something wrong that does not mean we have to leave the United States. In the news they always say “white cop kills black man” instead it should be “cop kills a man after…” Cops deserve more respect but us Americans believe they are racist. You never know who has a gun or who is going to hurt you. I think people should put themselves in a cops world and see who they would kill if needed and how would they feel if their life is endangered while everyone is sitting home safe making fun of them for being racist
