Reckless Drivers How would you feel if you lost someone close to you due to a speeding driver? Now what if that driver never got caught and he may still be out there hurting other families? People are not following the law and it’s causing families to be hurt and broken apart. It’s not that we don’t have the laws in place or that we are not enforcing them, it’s that people refuse to follow the law. The only solution is to make them follow the law. I have several proposals to solve this problem each of which is reasonable and effective.

Every year there are 1.3 million traffic deaths with traffic accidents being the leading cause of death for teenagers in America. This is slowly killing off the next generation of adults. Some of these solutions would be cheap, easy, and they would perfectly combat these speeding drivers without torturing the normal drivers. For example my snapshot proposal would restrict cars to reasonable speeds using GPS and would discourage the removal of the device but at the same time people who obey the law won’t have to fear any punishment. I believe that speed cameras would do the job but they could also cause some issues such as accidents because the drivers are distracted because they are checking their speed. But these two solutions paired would make it so that people wouldn’t have to check their speedometer because they know they are under the speed limit and the government could watch and make sure there are indeed no bugs and the devices are not breaking or malfunctioning. While speeding is not the leading cause of accidents in America it is certainly a huge risk to have these reckless drivers on the road. In conclusion while no solution is perfect or without some risk even just one of these solutions could save many
