Child abuse is worldwide problem, according to the Journal of Child Abuse and Neglect it is interpreted as any recent act of failure to act the part of a parent or caretaker which which results in death, serious physical or emotional harm, sexual abuse or exploitation, an act or failure to act which presents an imminent risk of serious harm. Abuse comes in many forms such as: emotional, physical, sexual, verbal and neglect. Neglect has been proven as the most common form of maltreatment. Furthermore, some foresee physical abuse is just getting bruised up or thrown around or hurt in an aggressive way, however, physical abuse can not only be physically traumatizing, but also emotionally traumatizing; The physical assaults are usually paired …show more content…

A common difference in mind is that “People believe the assault to the child was not meant in a harmful way, the parent or caregiver was just angry, and that they had the right to retaliate either verbally or physically.” (Child Abuse 8). This is incorrect, no matter what the minor did to upset or anger someone, does not give anyone the natural right to harm their child or any young male/female. Any type of assault should be brought to attention disregard the cause or the consequences. Sources say, “Failure to continue to get help for a child who is not doing well or who is improperly cared for may be interpreted as another form of neglect. This can result in criminal action or action by local child protective services that may result in children being removed from the home and placed in foster care.” (Child Abuse Causes, Symptoms, Treatment 2). Not only are the kids that are lacking support living in a dangerous environment, these situations will reflect on them later in life, it is said that, “The absence of seeking help and support from medical and social services in situations in which the child is living with less-than-adequate care from a parent, guardian, or caregiver could result in the child developing long-term medical , emotional, and developmental problems.” (Child Abuse Causes, Symptoms, Treatments 2). When children are suffering in their day-to-day life not only could this lead them to have seveire mental problems at such a young age but it can also influence them when they are older and have kids of their own, a majority of them will want to react the way their guardians reacted towards
