As the head coach of the Men’s Soccer Team, it is important that my athletes fully know and understand the principles of good eating when it comes to their sport. Once they understand how this method works, they will know why it is mandatory to have a healthy diet. They will also be more aware of how to maintain one as well. In this paper, I will demonstrate what and how I will teach my players about optimal nutrition. Therefore, I will be lecturing about the Principles of Good Eating. The most important areas in the Principles of Good Eating are Variety, Balance, and Moderation. I am a coach who prefers hands-on learning as well as evidence based practice. In order to actually prove the importance of good eating, I will divide my team into …show more content…
For variety, you will need to include the following in your diet: fruit, vegetables, grains, protein foods and dairy products. The amount of all nutrients required will depend on the athlete’s age, sex, as well as their physical activity level. In order for them to receive this information, they will refer to the chart and diagrams located on www.choosemyplate.gov. All of the following which I am about to mention are good sources of carbohydrates and carbohydrates will come in handy with providing glycogen for the muscles since there is an extreme amount of running in soccer. It is also important to keep any possible food allergies in mind. For the fruit and vegetable groups, any type will be permissible: fresh, dried, even frozen. Eating fruit and vegetables gives benefits such as lessening the chances for myocardial infarctions, stroke, cancer, and diabetes. For the grain group, there are two types: whole grain(has the bran, germ, and endosperm) and refines(grain without bran and germ). Either source of grain will be fine, perhaps oatmeal, white or brown rice, and white or wheat bread. Consuming grains can reduce constipation and assist with managing weight. This group is also essential in increasing fiber. Any type of food deriving from poultry, seafood, beans, eggs, and nuts are considered as protein foods. There are mainly five(5) good groups and they all have a specific role to perform in making sure that the diet is balanced: bread, fruit and vegetables, dairy, poultry and fish, and foods with fat. It is important to remember that each of these food groups are required daily in order to receive the nutrients that each group offers. In the variety section, I mentioned all of the food groups excluding the Foods with Fat Group. I decided to mention it here because this needs to be kept under close scrutiny. This group should only be eaten in moderateness, this means the exact accurate amount: nothing less and nothing more. With maintaining balance comes an issue named nutritional deficiency better known as malnutrition. This condition evolves from not having enough nutrients from a certain group. This is why it is mandatory to get the correct amount of calories per day. Without the proper balance of each food group, the body becomes more available for health problems, especially

Parents always want what is best for their children. They strive to provide for them, teach them, and to watch them grow into healthy, loving individuals. Despite this many parents continue to foster a habit that may prevent the goal of good health, unhealthy eating. Americans today consume too much fat, sugar, and food in general and its shows; rates of obesity and weight/diet related diseases such as diabetes are extremely high. In order to slow and eventually put a stop to this trend parents need to not only be aware and informed, but also need to take action and institute healthy eating habits from the very beginning.
Nutrition is a very controversial and confusing topic. One day coffee is bad for you, but the next day it is good. Alcohol is detrimental for our health one day, but the next day red wine is the elixir of life. There are dozens of diet plans and they promise a leaner and healthier body. There is the 3-Hour Diet that involves constantly eating small portions of anything we want to eat. The latest diet craze, the Paleo Diet, is based upon eating foods that our “hunter-gatherer ancestors” would have thrived on during the Paleolithic era. And there is the Blood Type Diet, the South Beach Diet, the Macrobiotic Diet, the Mediterranean Diet, and the list goes on. But who and what should we believe? Well, there is an optimal diet for humans and the answer might surprise many.
Meals should contain nutrient-rich foods from each of the following food groups: proteins, fruits, vegetables, grain products, and milk and milk products.
Nutrition is the study of food and the nutrients we need to live a long healthy life, it gives you a better understanding of what to eat and how those foods effect your body. Then, you provide yourself with a variety of different foods and activities to avoid mindless eating or getting bored of a certain food and begin to no longer crave that food. And lastly, to eat in moderation this means to eat to ensure that you do not over eat. To better explain this, there are five key principles to healthy eating.

The purpose of the study was to look at the relationship between future schoolteachers’ knowledge and habits when it comes to eating healthy and classroom food habits. The study included a survey from 103 (out of the 130) prospective teachers completing a Baccalaureate Degree in elementary or secondary education programs. The survey included questions about how the prospective teachers viewed their health, their eating habits, what they thought about school food environment, and their nutritional knowledge. The students who took it were in their final year of the bachelors program. The survey was distributed to the students at the end of a mandatory seminar for seniors in the education program.
It can be hard for people to change their eating habits, and often external factors such as busy schedules, work, family and school can represent an important influence in their diets. The answer is not to drastically eliminate foods from your diet, instead, to find a balance diet rich in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, etc. Eating healthy can prevent future chronic diseases and improve your overall
Mindfulness unlocks your senses. It is the practice of being fully aware of what is happening within and around you in the moment. This is not easy to do! Practicing mindfulness helps people make better choices in regards to what and how they eat. There is a lot to learn here, but taking simple steps like noticing the smells, temperatures, textures and tastes of the foods in your meal is a good place to start. Mindful eating also requires you to reduce distractions such as physical, mental, social and emotional ones. People often find that they enjoy their food much more once beginning more mindful approaches to eating. Mindful eating also seems to improve food choices, in both what and how people eat. It essentially reshapes your relationship with food and makes eating more enjoyable because you learn your reactions to food preferences, habits and tastes.
