A Christmas Carol
Stave 1:
Scrooge’s character is established early in stave 1. Dickens shows his
popularity by showing us his relationships with people in his
surroundings. We can tell scrooge is unpopular as the narrator
portrays him as a “Tight fisted hand at the grindstone.”
Scrooges name give us a similarity between the word scrounge what is
to be tight with money and every opportunity to make money, this
automatically helps us launch an understanding that he is tight with
his money, what is necessary to associate him as nasty old man. When
the narrator is describing Scrooge he uses words that help us
negotiate an opinion that Scrooge is an aggressive and is detested by
person. It helps us find out that scrooge is a bitter, mean, twisted,
moody and selfish old man. The narrator Charles Dickens builds the
foundation of our understanding of our knowledge that he is despised
by referring to him as “a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping,
clutching, covetous old sinner” that helps us portray that scrooge is
tight with his money. Dickens also tells us that he is “External heart
and cold had little influence on scrooge” and also that scrooge says
“no warmth, and no wintry winter cold chill scrooge.” In general
scrooge is described to have poor relations with other people and
literally he is a loner, but this is what he wants. Scrooge is known
by people as a bitter old man, as when he walks down the street people
avoid his wicked ways. In a way it as if scrooge wants to stay alone
and he may enjoy being despised by others. Dickens goes on to mention
how he was avoided on the street, “No beggars implored him to bestow a
trifle” and that no one would dare give a greeting as they would only

Extension:
The narratorial voice and Christian morality enrich the reading
experience of “A Christmas Carol” by making the play more
enthusiastic. On the first page of “A Christmas Carol” dickens
narratorial voice comes across when he describes Marley as “dead as a
door nail.” The Christian morality in this story helps us navigate a
decision that Dickens is a very true Christian. The moral of this
story is hidden in the depth of the story, the moral is to be kind
hearted and to be generous. These shows to be weary of what can happen
if you are not generous and that, you will be punished and will feel
guilty if you persist on being the same. In the form of scrooge it
shows us that you can be happy and the richest man in the world for
helping people, maybe not in the form of money but in the form of
happiness.
On a tiny snowflake floating through the air, exists the town of Who-ville, home of the Whos. The town is joyously preparing for the coming of Christmas. The opening scene is full of noise and excitement with the townspeople hustling and bustling about shopping for gifts. Cheerful Christmas music plays in the background while the countdown until Christmas Day is announced over the town’s loudspeaker. Bright colors combined with unusual hairstyles are seen on the people of Who-ville. The town itself is covered with a multitude of lights, decorated trees, and wreaths.
The play “A Christmas Carol – A ghost story of Christmas” by Charles Dickson, directed by James Black in Houston, TX was performed in a similar way in “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickson, directed by Michael Wilson in Washington, D.C. The both plays had similarities and differences throughout the play in which demonstrated different creativity from the different directors. The rating that was given by the reviewer of the play in Washington gave a 5 out of 5 star rating. For the play that I went to watch the rating I would give it would be a 5 star rating.
A morality play, not unlike some of the popular plays I have seen. I think we all have seen this familiar theme many times over the years. As we head into the Christmas season, where reflective thinking becomes this very theme. I can compare this play with some of these seasonal plays. The play that comes to my mind immediately is, "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens.
How can one truly be happy? According to psychologist Karyn Hall, radical acceptance of oneself is the only way to live a happy, healthy life. In Charles Dickens’s novel, “A Christmas Carol”, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, declares that he will live in the past, present, and future. By the end of the story, Scrooge radically accepts himself, learns to love others, and copes with his anxiety. Scrooge’s declaration to live in the past, present, and future demonstrates his ability to overcome his suffering and become empathetic of the world. Although it is not possible for Scrooge to completely overcome his anxiety, he learns to radically accept it.
I think it is more important to work for an effective leader rather than an effective manager. A person first must become an efficient leader before he or she becomes a manager. Working on a unit with an effective leader, nurses will go to the leader first before the manager, which is how the chain of command works. This will keep things in order and hopefully a solution will be found quicker. Furthermore to become a manager, one must show leadership qualities to attain that position.

The moral from the Golden Goose is to learned that human beings are greedy, and most of time we don’t respect the nature.
As it said in the textbook (2015) leaders innovate, develop, inspire, have long term view, ask what and why, originate, and challenge the status quo while managers administer, maintain, control, have short term view, ask how and when, imitate, and lastly accept the status quo (McGraw Hill Education, 2015, 16-17). Mangers answer to other people while leaders do not answer to other people. Also, mangers are mostly
Presently many of us have learned that managers are primarily administrators who have learned to write business plans, utilize their resources and keep track of progress. We must learn that we are not limited by job title, and that means we can utilize our management skills in any position that we are in. We must also know that we can use our leadership skills in the same situations. On the other hand we have also learned that leaders are people who have an impact on those that surround them. The main difference that separates these two roles is that management is a function that must be utilized in any type of business, and leadership is the relationship that the leader has with his followers, which in turn can motivate and energize the organization.
In "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes a transformation as a result of his encounters with three ghosts and becomes a kind, happy, and generous man. His greedy, cruel, and grumpy demeanor is replaced seemingly overnight, but he doesn’t just wake up and decide to be nice. It takes three Spirits to change his outlook on life - The Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. The Ghost of Christmas Past makes Scrooge begin to regret his selfishness, and the Ghost of Christmas Present begins to teach him about others. This second Ghost helps to make him realize that money doesn't buy happiness. The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, however, teaches the most profound lesson of all: unless he changes, no one will care if Scrooge dies. Because of the Ghosts, by Christmas morning Ebenezer Scrooge is a completely different person from the man who went to bed on Christmas Eve.

Leaders in healthcare have so many daily obligations that they have to meet and be responsible for. Today’s leaders have to keep up with scheduling, flexing, covering vacation, meetings, their department as a whole, and make sure everything runs smoothly. With the ever changing healthcare nurses have to be up to date on new technology, training, and new education. The department head is not only a supervisor; she is a bedside nurse meeting multiple demands. She takes on tasks that include everything from the bedside nurse, to unit meetings, to charge nurse, and to scheduling, just to name a few. Speaking to leaders and managers in healthcare today the stress is at all time high from the new healthcare reform, nursing shortages, and meeting daily productivity.
In today’s society, leadership is a common yet useful trait used in every aspect of life and how we use this trait depends on our role. What defines leadership is when someone has the capability to lead an organization or a group of people. There are many examples that display a great sense of leadership such being an educator in health, a parent to their child, or even a nurse. In the medical field, leadership is highly used among nurses, doctors, nurse managers, director of nursing, and even the vice president of patient care services. Among the many positions in the nursing field, one who is a nurse manager shows great leadership. The reason why nurse manager plays an important role in patient care is because it is known to be the most difficult position. As a nurse manager, one must deal with many patient care issues, relationships with medical staff, staff concerns, supplies, as well as maintaining work-life balance. Also, a nurse manager represents leadership by being accountable for the many responsibilities he or she holds. Furthermore, this position is a collaborative yet vital role because they provide the connection between nursing staff and higher level superiors, as well as giving direction and organization to accomplish tasks and goals. In addition, nurse managers provide nurse-patient ratios and the amount of workload nursing staff has. It is their responsibility to make sure that nursing staff is productive and well balanced between their work and personal lives.
Leadership quality: A manger must have a leadership quality with them it helps to lead the team very efficiently. They must have to ability to delegate and motivate the other team members. The managers must have to creative so that he can create good ideas and implement that with the other members.
