The Internet
The Future of Internet
1.Audience
My Forum Paper was designed to that typical person who is always connected to the Internet and has an interest in knowing how Internet has influenced our society in this century and their lives. However it will be more directed to our traditional Gonzaga student, who has that normal personal computer and used normally to navigate through the Internet and would like to know how the Internet influenced our society and their lives. This forum paper has a very simple language for easy understanding for anyone who is not familiar with the Internet.
2.Introduction
One of the most revolutionizing inventions of the century is the computer. Nowadays the computer is an accessory indispensable in everyone’s lives. Who hasn’t used a computer before? They are used everywhere, from banks, companies, and industries to restaurants, schools and hospitals. But do you know computers are more used for the Internet. According to an article published in an Internet page, “The future of computers”, 65% of the time the computer is used for the Internet. But what is the Internet? Internet according to Oxford Dictionary is: “a system of connected computers that allows computer users around the world to exchange information.” Nowadays, one third of the world has access to Internet, isn’t that amazing! I consider the Internet the third revolution. More than half of all the profit made by nearly every company, business, or entertainment has been made through the Internet. In my forum paper I will discuss and evaluate the influence that the Internet has had in our society. I will give the main points where the Internet has influenced: communication, education, and businesses. It will also include an interview of an expert in Internet and an survey with Gonzaga University students to know their opinion about the future of Internet. However I will also point the negatives points of the Internet: creation of a false economy, access to restricted information and the damaged hackers have made to the Internet that has affected lives of many people.
3.1 Influence in Business
Internet has changed forever the way business is done. According to US trade market, the Internet makes nearly half of all the business done in the US. People have seen that it is much easier to buy through the Internet. We spend less time...

7. Interview
My Interview was made with a computer science teacher Dr. Carlos Tavora, specialized in Internet. It was short but very instructive. One important thing that he told me is that the Internet connection in many other countries is still very slow and not so accessible as in the US. People in other countries are still afraid of making businesses by the Internet. He thinks that is still a barrier that Internet has to break to become worldwide. He also told me that Internet has changed dramatically higher education mainly in the area of research and conferences. He said that nowadays if you are researching for example about computers you can contact the best person in that area through the Internet and get useful information for your research. However twenty years ago it was very different it would take much more time to get information from other resources. To summarize the interview he ended saying that the biggest impact of the Internet in our society is the flexibility and accessibility of information that Internet has provided to our society.

Many believe the internet was an over night sensation, that one day, someone invented the internet and it spread in popularity faster than Tickle Me Elmo or the Macarena. Although the internet did have a surge of commercial popularity, with the invention of Mosaic and later with e-commerce, it was created many years ago with the development of military networking technologies. Also, the internet, unlike many pop culture fads of the nineties, will continue to see a growth in popularity and usefulness as a form of media throughout the information age. Sure, the internet became overambitious to the point where many internet start-up companies lost their businesses in the recession of the past few years. The quality of the internet, however, has increased as companies realize that there exists competition and smarter consumers that demand superiority. The internet has taken the world so far in its short commercial life; the future of the internet provides limitless possibilities of a much different future.
With an entity as vast as the Internet, it is not surprising that a variety of unanswered questions will arise. I’m positive that the Internet will continue to confound scholars as it continues to quickly evolve. By analyzing the views of the celebrants and skeptics, I have been able to understand the potential that the internet has. By using the PEC, I have been able to understand how democracy and capitalism relate to the issues of the Internet. In the future, I hope that society can develop a further understanding of the Internet and move toward the Internet that the celebrants had hoped for.
The history of the internet shows that the internet is not a new medium. The internet was initially created in the 1960's to as a way for the United States to stay connected in case of a nuclear fallout due to the possible consequences of the Cold War. F...

The internet is a magnificent tool that we use in many aspects of our society. It has been very helpful in regards to business, education, socialization, recreation and so much more. The internet has also been very harmful in regards to all those things as well, even communication. We are discussing the social aspects of the internet and their positive and negative effects.
Commonly known as the Internet, the world’s largest network is used extensively throughout the world today. Since its creation in 1983, the Internet has continued to grow in popularity and use as a commercial and private communications medium. Millions of people throughout the world use the Internet in a variety of ways, ranging from personal conversations to on-line shopping. According to a survey compiled by Nua Ltd in 1999, the number of Internet users rose from 26 million in 1995 to 205 million in 1999, an increase of almost 700% (Nua Ltd)! With such an explosive increase, how then has the Internet affected us personally, and how has it affected the way we do business? The answers to these questions include changes in the way people obtain information, interact, work, learn and conduct business.Given the Internet’s original purpose is to share information, it is no wonder that the most important asset of the Internet is the wealth of information that can be found on the Internet (Maney 3).
We are all familiar with internet. Since it was born to affirm the development of society, it rapidly changes our life so much. How does it impact on us? What do you think its value could be a help or a hindrance? Let?s discover the answer by now.
I chose to write about the internet and its impact on people. I chose this subject because we could see clearly the effect of it on people especially socially. This subject has many positive and negative aspects such as social effect, finance issue, faster communication, entertainment for everyone, virus and spam mail, shopping online, the advantages and disadvantages of both sides.
The mass media include television, radio, movies, videos, CDs, audio tapes, the Internet, newspapers, magazines and books. The fastest growing medium is the Internet. The invention of Internet lets the consumers to be able to look for the informations or for entertainment such as academic journals, books, online games, music and others. According to “Internet Usage Statistic” (2005), the number of Internet users started from 40 million in 1995 to 28 million in 2000 and later increase into a dramatic 800 million plus in 2005 worldwide. The Internet is as a social system. (Eighmey and McCord, 1998). As we all know, internet is mainly used for social learning, engaging in social relationship, starting and maintaining communication and encouraging a sense of belonging through the...
The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The Internet enables communication and transmission of data between computers at different locations. The Internet is a computer application that connects tens of thousands of interconnected computer networks that include 1.7 million host computers around the world. The basis of connecting all these computers together is by the use of ordinary telephone wires. Users are then directly joined to other computer users at there own will for a small connection fee per month. The connection conveniently includes unlimited access to over a million web sites twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. There are many reasons why the Internet is important these reasons include: The net adapts to damage and error, data travels at 2/3 the speed of light on copper and fiber, the internet provides the same functionality to everyone, the net is the fastest growing technology ever, the net promotes freedom of speech, the net is digital, and can correct errors. Connecting to the Internet cost the taxpayer little or nothing, since each node was independent, and had to handle its own financing and its own technical requirements.
When thinking about specific ways that the internet has changed the world, the first thing that comes to mind is the way we receive information. Nowadays everything that you need to know is right there at your fingertips. Whether we need answers to history questions or a recipe for dinner tonight, the internet gives it to us. I see this as both a good and a bad thing for our society. I think that it’s good that we always have the necessary information in our hands in case there is a time that we do need some sort of information instantly. We will be able to get that instant information because the internet is right in front of us. However, I think that the more we make the internet available to younger kids, the more those kids will rely on the internet for all of their needs. This is a serious problem because we can’t be sure that the internet will always be there for us to use. What will happen when the internet goes out and nobody can figure out how to fix it? The people that are too reliable on the internet will have problems functioning in real life. That is why the use of internet for kids needs to be monitored for assurance that they can survive without it.
The internet has come along way since its birth back in 1969, from its start as a government network to the everyday life; it has proven to be one of the greatest inventions ever discovered. It has helped many people with an array of task ranging from everyday government usage, and personal web pages to the ever so expanding horizons of technology still being produced today. Between the good and the bad, the internet has improved the way of life, and will continue to improve throughout time.
Since the development of the Internet in late 1980s, communication has changed enormously. The Internet has altered the lives of people in the world in a way that was never imagined before. As little as a decade ago, if someone tried to explain the Internet and World Wide Web, it would have been difficult, if not impossible, to understand. Computers were just beginning to become popular and few individuals realized the capacity of one PC, let alone the power of a network of electronic technology. By linking together computers, users could remotely access others on the network, share information, and send electronic mail as easily as pushing a button. Millions of people with shared interests, exchange information and build communities through Web sites, email and instant-messaging software.
The internet has influenced, and is still influencing the way society communicates in many different ways. The rise of the internet has caused people to communicate differently in areas never dreamed of before the internet came into existence. Education has been revolutionized through the world of the “Information Super Highway”. Medicine has also seen reform as the internet improves research and communication. Individuals are starting businesses from scratch, while others are selling household items for extra cash. This internet “typhoon” sweeping the globe has become a way of life for many individuals all across the globe.
People use and rely on the Internet is so many ways today; it is difficult to imagine what life was like when it did not exist. The emergence of the Internet has impacted the world in many ways including eliminating a student’s need to visit a library, possibly costing people a job when searching for employment, providing a lack or privacy, creating a new method of communication, presenting new ways to commit a crime, and even an easier way to spend more money on items many people do not really need. Our world has changed drastically since the creation of the Internet, and over time as technology advances, it is going to be amazing to see what else society will be able to do.
