Why be an educated person?
The term ‘education’ can mean many things. An education is the collective knowledge a person has, but what does an education mean? Although an education can be paid for, no one can physically give you an education, so it is not a gift. There are societal situations where an education is a necessity, but not many globally. Education is a tool to be utilized differently in every part of the world. Knowledge is power, but some knowledge is more powerful depending on your region. If you are part a primitive tribe in New Guinea, a person that is considered to be educated may be illiterate. Whereas in America, an illiterate person would have trouble functioning at all in society. Education is a tool that is to be developed by a combination of motivation, preparation, support, and society.
Once you have made the decision to attain an education, certain virtues must be possessed. You must be motivated by something, weather it be money, power, or just the desire to learn. It is motivation that drives you to learn new things and to expand your horizons. You must prepare for an education. For everything that you want to know, there is something else you need to know first. Before you can be proficient on a piano you must know music, and before you can be proficient on a computer you must learn to use a keyboard and a mouse. Even though these skills may seem intuitive to some, someone from a different social culture may not have...

Did you know that recently The United States Children Fund (UNICEF) portal has stated that education transforms peoples’ lives and bust the cycle of poverty? Also have you ever thought about how the human kind desires a decent life with great privileges, such as education and no one argues about that?
Education is the act or process of acquiring knowledge to prepare oneself intellectually for mature life. It is the standard foundation for most youth growing up. A good solid education background is what can take you to different heights as they become young adults. “The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives” quoted by Robert Maynard Hutchins. The statement is true to the form of getting an education prepares you for a prosperous life ahead. Knowledge is power and knowledge is needed to have stability within your life. In “Bodega Dreams” by Ernesto Quinonez education is the basis of entire society. But does it
Education is one of the most important heritage that a father can give to his son. Education is the greatest inheritance a parent can leave to the son, being educated is not to acquire knowledge but more than that it be lack of ignorance. Someone once said that “I do not read for more intelligence but rather to be less ignorant”, these words have a world between them, because many people study for a degree not for gain knowledge. Education can be defined as the wealth of knowledge acquired by an individual that would be a common way to define which education, but is also the most seen college students? This is the biggest mistake of most college students, which go to colleges
Education is in itself a concept, which has changed over the millennia, can mean different things and has had differing purposes according to time and culture. Education may take place anywhere, is not constrained by bricks and mortar, delivery mechanisms or legislative requirements. Carr (2003. p19) even states, “education does not necessarily involve teaching”. Education, by one definition, is the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge, developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life (education, n.d.).
Education is defined as the process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, especially at a school or university and is known as an enlightening experience. Before the 1820s the education system in the United States was a just disappointing to put it best. When the Second Great Awakening there was a new need for the public to no longer be so ignorant and uneducated on daily affairs. This need sprouted the sedulous to work for education and this soon became prominent to all members of society. Then it began: the push to improve the mockery that was the American education system.
Education, we hear that word quite frequently but what does it mean? Miriam Webster’s Dictionary defines education as “the knowledge and development resulting from an educational process”. Everyone needs some education to be a success in life. The amount and types of education can vary but we all need the basics of reading, writing and math to be successful in life, and to be professional in the workplace. I see education as a step to success in the future. Education ideally results in effective communication, and a successful professional life. We have alternate ways of learning, and new things to learn as a result of technology.
Education has different perspectives and meanings for most. Education is known as the process of receiving methodical instruction especially in institutions such as high schools or colleges. Education rightfully benefits an individual’s ability to explore a deeper literate meaning while also helping avoid societal embarrassment. Some see the general aspect of education as a measure of socioeconomic status while others perceive education as a tool of knowledgeable attainment. Regardless of the many different faces education possesses all combine to create the concept that education serves as a medium to producing a learning society.
Education is the process of receiving knowledge, which is gained through various ways, but the most popular way is through school. Usually in society school dedicates how much education is received and individuals are ranked within a society based on an understanding of the taught material. As McCandless said “You don't need to worry about me. I have a college education” (Krakauer 52). I would agree with that there is a difference between education and school because there are many other ways education can be gained other than going to an institution. However, school institutions provide the most basic and constant access to education to many. Education is earned through traveling the world and learning about other cultures or other forms of
Education is an activity we all feel that we know something about, having had personal and direct experience of it. Education has become a large industry employing many hundreds of thousands of people in Britain alone. It is supposedly an important part of ensuring future economic development yet it also imposes a major financial cost. Education plays a central role in society and also in all of our lives. So education is a very complex set of activities and institutions which is not easy to define. Students know that they have to trust that sometimes, what they are doing isn’t going to affect them immediately but it will in the long run. Peters (1966) an education philosopher said:
Education is the act or process of imparting or acquiring general knowledge or skills, as for a profession developing the powers of reasoning and judgment, and generally of preparing oneself or others intellectually for mature life. Before education was not popular, the idea of children needing to be in school is new. It just so happens that to get into college you need a high school diploma and most jobs require one to have some type of education. So it is a necessity, than a need in this day and age. Some places around the world have it better in education than others which puts them first in league. This paper will discuss those differences.
Education is simply one feature of society and socialization. It involves the gaining of knowledge, both formally or informally and learning of skills. It often helps to shape beliefs and moral values.
Nowadays, I believe that education becomes one of the most important things people all around the world should get in their life. They can get an education wherever and whenever they are. Commonly, people start to study and get an education by their family and school start from kindergarten until university level. However, what is the meaning of education? It is “a systematic process through which a child or an adult acquires knowledge, experience, skill and sound attitude” (John Parankimalil, 2012). In contrast, the system of education in every country definitely has a different system. For instance, like the education system between Indonesia and Japan. Both Indonesia and Japan have different system to give an education for its people.
There is no one single definition for what education really is. Experts and scholars from the beginning have viewed and commented about education in different ways. The definition mostly agreed upon was that education is an acquisition or passing of skills, behavior or knowledge from an institution to another. This institution can either be a person, a school, a family or even the society. If we go in the ancient meaning and the ideology of education, it means to lead out of ignorance. In other words, education or knowledge in this sense was light and education brought the person out of the dark. The purpose and ideology of education is therefore to bring out the potential of a person and pass on knowledge
