Minorities
A minority group is made up of people who share a common set of cultural or physical characteristics that marks them as different from the powerful dominant group and for which they often suffer social disadvantages, because of their lack of power. As in the case of race and ethnicity, minority group membership is given by society. The most common minority groups are African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Women.
African Americans
Low status jobs
In 1997 African Americans were considered 12.5% of the U.S. population and 64.7% of their race participated in the labor force. African Americans were also considered for 21.6% of all guards, 21.5% of all service occupation, cleaning, and building. Also 30.8% of all health service occupation (Macionis 1998).
Less Education
A mere of 75% have graduated high school, and 38% of all African Americans have completed at least one year of college. On the other hand 84% of European Americans have graduated high school , and 51% of them complete at least one year of college.(Macionis 1998).
Less Medical Care
In 1996 there was 19% of African Americans who didn’t receive health coverage under the age of 65, while only 15% of all the European Americans had not received it as well. Over the age of 65 with members of their population 30.1% had Medicare only. The European Americans had a low of 16.9% of Medicare. (Horner 1999).
Crime infested ghettos
Almost one third of all African Americans live in crime infested ghettos three times that of European Americans. An approximate percentage of African Americans that live in ghettos in 1997 was 80%. (Robertson).
Large percent of prison population
In 1997 African Americans were considered 42% of all jail inmates. In 1998 African Americans were considered 12.5% of the U.S. population, yet they were 32.4%of those arrested.(Macionis 1998).
Women
Low status jobs
They have been considered that 98.4% of all women are secretaries. Household and child care workers is 86.5%, and 94.3% of all private household cleaners or maids are women. (Macionis 1998).
Less Education
In 1970 women had earned only 17% of a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering computer science, and natural sciences. In 1995 though, the proportion was still low but it increased to 31%. (Macionis 1998).
Unequal Pay for Equal Work
In 1998 women had...

... in the view. They allow themselves into fulfilling the prophecy to take place, as they see it as an uncontrollable variable in their lives.
Women in society have been said to be weak, sensitive, and home making, in that they are better suited in the house. False explanation gives that views of women are physically inadequate to do the job of the man.
A numerous amount of men still perpetuate this explanation as they would like to maintain their status as the head of the house. They believe that women’s equality would diminish their dominance, especially in the catholic society. Many women still believe this ideology because of the strong religious belief, ethnic or cultural backgrounds and the personal perspective.
People are not created equal, and some races are not considered with respect. As you can see if there is no inequality then there cannot be a society.

The film 12 Angry Men depicts the challenge faced by a jury as they deliberate the charges brought against an 18-year-old boy for the first-degree murder of his father. Their task is to come to an impartial verdict, based on the testimony that was heard in court. The group went through the case over and over while personal prejudices, personality differences, and tension mounted as the process evolved. While the scorching hot weather conditions and personal affairs to tend to led the juror to make quick and rash decisions, one juror convinced them the fate of the 18 year old was more important than everyone’s problems an convinced them that they could not be sure he was guilty. Juror three took the most convincing. After fighting till he
“No matter where you run into it, prejudice obscures the trues” (page 66). Prejudice can be a dangerous thing, especially when it comes to adjusting somebody’s life. At that time in America a jury consists of twelve men can determine the life or death of one person by giving a unanimous verdict. A typical reflection of this reality is an influential drama “Twelve Anger Men”. Reginald Rose wrote this drama inspired by his experience of being a juror on a manslaughter case to reveal a common social phenomenon of prejudice. To stress the main idea that, Rose presents the key points that biased individuals are less rational or blinding themselves with an unfair judgement about one’s guilt. Moreover, she conveys the facts that stereotype produces an effect on one’s statement. Furthermore, prejudice constantly affect other jurors’ opinion, intentionally or unintentionally. With Rose’s vivid description and clear contrast between each juror, he emphasizes the existence of prejudice and further to spread an idea that prejudice influence the outcome of the trial.
The play, ‘Twelve Angry men’, written by Reginald Rose, explores the thrilling story of how twelve different orientated jurors express their perceptions towards a delinquent crime, allegedly committed by a black, sixteen-year-old. Throughout the duration of the play, we witness how the juror’s background ordeals and presumptuous assumptions influence the way they conceptualise the whole testimony itself.
Women in this era had just begun to secure some freedom from their typical cultural expectations. They were expected to take care of the children, cook, clean, sew and be presentable to society. As jobs were made available to women, only a low percentage of these women started to work outside of the home. This means that many women had chosen to stay inside the home to remain in the role of “house keeper”. Even though the woman attained some freedom they were still considered inferior to men. Men still had the most authority in the household and
Minorities are groups distinct compared to the rest of the population whether by politics, ethnic background, and religious practices, or matters alike. Often, minorities in America are described by race or income. People with lower income usually called a minority or people with little knowledge or subsidiary occupation classification. Many rights activists cover most of the concerns of racial discrimination. Moreover, equal rights, whether in the place of employment, access to efficient education or healthcare, or the rights to vote, are all issues of racial discrimination. Throughout time, minorities are primarily affected.
Blacks are overly portrayed in jails and prisons. Bobo and Thompson stated that in 1954, 98,000 African Americans were in jail or prison. By 2002, there was an increase of 900%, 884,500 African Americans were in jail or prisons. In 2007, blacks made up 39% of detained males in prisons or jails however they make up 12% of the total adult male population. White males make up 36.1% of the male inmate population but they make up 65.6% of the total male population. These statistics demonstrate that racialized mass incarceration exists in the U.S.
On the typical day, over 90 people will die at the hand of opioid abuse in America alone (National). In fact, as of 2014, nearly 2 million Americans were dependent and abusing opioids. The Opioid Crisis has affected America and its citizens in various ways, including health policy, health care, and the life in populous areas. Due to the mass dependence and mortality, the crisis has become an issue that must be resolved in all aspects.
The work essentially parallels des Louvre’s definition of a myth in that the latter must: justify actions of a family or city, refers to something of collective importance, is independent of any particular text, and carries an aura of truth without one, distinct author. With its underpinning lying in a spiritual level, the myth demonstrates the strength and power of Rome’s historic creators, justifies battles through its underlying theme of war, explains the necessity and almost implied success of a city whose creators were so closely intertwined with divinity, as well as notes the rationale behind Rome’s specific location, and is a significant, traditional tale told through generations of Roman families. Therefore, Romulus and Remus is a

Prejudices cause peoples’ perceptions to be altered. The jurors are presented quite a bit about the boy’s background, and his records. Juror Ten struggles to see past the stereotypes and judges the boy based on his past actions. Juror Ten claims,” He’s a common ignorant slob. He don’t even speak good English,” (326). What is so ironic about this statement is that Ten claims the boy is dense and bases this claim on the fact that he can’t speak English well. However as corrected by Eleven, it is “doesn’t” not “does”. Perhaps the boy learned from his mistakes and sought to change. That is what life is all about. We fall down and hopefully learn from our mistakes so that we can create a better future for ourselves. Juror Ten is firmly set on the idea that the court covered everything by repeatedly saying, “They proved it,’’ on page 317. Unlike Eight he is not open-minded. As a juror it is important to be skeptics because the in court, lawyers may have presented information in such a way that information is perceived differently. Also crucial information may have not have been analyzed carefully. It’s important not to dwell on the past; its also keep prejudices from exposing you to
This movie goes to show how such crucial facts and minuet evidence if not processed fully and clearly can change the outcome in such a big way. In this jury you have 12 men from all different walks of life, 12 different times, and 12 different personalities. Who have an obligation to come to one conclusion and that's whether or not the young man on trial is guilty of murdering his father or is innocent beyond a reasonable doubt. Under much frustration and lack of patience these 12 men began to get unruly and unfocused. Throughout this distraction key terms get misused, facts get turned around and more importantly emotions start to cross making it hard for these men to produce a verdict.

Real estate is a fixed, tangible and immovable asset in form of houses or commercial property (Seldin & Richard 1985). Real estate market involves developing, renting, selling/purchasing and renovating of these assets (houses). Market participants includes developers (contractors, engineers, and so on), facilitators (mortgage companies, real estate brokers, banks, management agents and so on), owners, renters (leasers) and renovators (Seldin & Richard 1985). Like other economic markets, real estate markets have internal and external forces that make impacts in the market (Seldin & Richard 1985).
When investigating a case there are many different things to look for and inspect. In the event that there is a dead body found they must search for the cause of death, any wounds, the time of death, a possible suspect, and much more. One aspect of an investigation that is not usually heard of or known to many people is the forensic entomology or studying the bugs found within the body. “Forensic entomology is the study of insects for a medico-legal use” [1]. This is something that can actually be of great use to an investigation and can tell a lot more than one may think. There are many different bugs or insects that may be found in, with, or around a body. After much studying of the insects investigators have learned that the most valuable thing bugs bring to the table is being able to get an accurate time of death (TOD). There are a few different types of insects that are used when looking at the TOD of a body. The most common insects used are Calliphoridae or blowflies, and Coleoptera or beetles [2]. These two bugs are used in two very different ways and methods. Not only are the methods used different but also they are used at different time intervals of finding a corpse. The blowflies are generally the first animals to arrive at any scene where a body is present. They will generally arrive within hours and even minutes depending on the situation and if body fluids are spilled out. Beetles on the other hand are not found till later on in the decay process. Although, there are many different tools an investigator may use to determine the post mortem interval (PMI) of a body, over the last several years of studying medico-legal professionals have discovered that using forensic entomology can get the PMI down to within a one day...
