Medea - Male And Female Perceptions Of The World Ask yourself this, Is this world biased against a particular gender? Do we mainly focus on women's issues or men's?' What would your answer be? I bet most of you would say no, we aren't biased at all. And, in many cases, that would be correct. But look at some of the other parts of the world where women aren?t allowed a say, they aren?t allowed to put their point of view forward even in our own society. They aren?t allowed to know information until the male passes it on to them. This ?gap? between women and men is widest in these areas. This type of treatment was happening at the times of the great ancient Greek playwrights such as Aeschylus, Sophocles, and the controversial Euripides. Euripides' play 'Medea' explores these themes as well as many others. Unlike today where women are usually regarded as important as men are, the ancient Greek men were ranked much higher than women in the hierarchy and therefore there was quite a gap between them. This meant that men were able to order women around and information was available to them before anybody else. Men were regarded as smarter than women so they were chosen to do special tasks while the women were left to be servants. But men didn?t seem to understand women much at all. Some men believed that they were just ?Poor women?, ?Harping on trouble?, where really they were doing things that would have helped themselves as well as the people around them. Medea is expecte...
Operations: Chipotle has set standards from when the food is bought, to when it's produced and to when it's sold. This quality control is performed by their Quality Assurance group, which foresees all of these positions.
With a unique appeal, a healthy and delicious product, and a powerful social message that made our target customers feel great about eating Chipotle over more traditional fast food, we have pioneered the fast-casual restaurant model our customers admire. Furthermore, our food sourcing is a rewardable effort and it is what we and our customers respect.
When Chipotle first opened in 1993, the goal was to serve quality food fast, but not be considered “fast food.” To avoid falling under the fast food stigma, Chipotle strives to find the best ingredients with respect to animals, farmers, and the environment. In order to achieve these goals, Chipotle has created a matrix organizational structure that is divisional by location and functional by authority. Chipotle recently expanded internationally to the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, each following strict guidelines assigned by corporate employees from their headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Similarly, each location is functionally organized according to authority: regional manager, district manager, store manager, assistant manager, and

Women had very few rights, they lived as prisoners, serving men 24 hours a day. Women were sheltered from society, restricted to their husbands and their husbands houses, crying out for help and justice but there is no one to there to hear their screams. In the play Antigone when the title character had to sneak out of the house to meet up with Ismene. Ancient Greek men ruled a lot like over protective fathers with teenage daughters. Men were also scared of women gaining confidence and begin thinking on their own or worse taking action or speaking out against men, like in the play Antigone where Antigone confronts Creon by burying Polyneices after Creon strictly stated that no one bury him. If someone were to bury him, the whole Polis would stone them to death. When Creon found out that someone buried Polyneices, he did not even consider that it could have been a women that did it.
Its all about the person 's experience, and their perception of the experience. There can be many different sides to a story, and very well be each individual 's truth. Tim O’Brien is a perfect example, he explains his truth about the Vietnam War in his own way and how he felt through his experiences. You get to see Tim O’Brien explain his own personal truths, and although he may have had different ways of explaining the Vietnam War it is his own truth. Whether it was about Jimmy Cross and his love for Martha, or the horrific experience of Ted Lavender being killed. He did a great job telling the story, whether it metaphorically meant something else or a figment of his imagination. It was his truth of the Vietnam
In Greek society, the role of women was considered to be insignificant compared to the Greek men. The women had very few rights, no room to voice personal opinions, and a very bleak future with few options for a better life. According to Moses Hades, professor of Greek studies, women in ancient Greek plays are known to be the main characters and take the role of the villain, victim, or the heroine. In Euripides’ play Medea, Medea, the main character, plays all these roles. She represents the heroine by helping her husband secure the Golden Fleece prior to their marriage, and then portrays the victim by being betrayed by her husband, and finally the villain by murdering her loved ones. Therefore, Euripides follows the standard format for a Greek tragedy.
Even in the first civilizations sexsim was very prevalent, women were not included in democracy, they were not allowed to vote, and in some earlier civilizations women were not even allowed to have a job or go outside the home. Even as a 16 year old girl in America, the supposed land of dreams, I see sexism everyday. I see it when I watch the news, I see it when I’m walking down the halls at my school, I even see it when I read novels and articles or watch a movie online. Over 60% of serious journalism roles are given to males, while the women are left with the less important, or less popular sections. In school I see boys calling girls stupid, or girls getting a pass to go to their locker because they forgot something, even though a boy was just denied. I notice sexism the most in literature and movies, I see female characters being “airheads” or acting dumb and helpless, their main role in the piece is to wait for the male character to save them, or to be a comic relief. Not only are women’s jobs and dignity at stake but our sexuality, education and rights are too.
“Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away”- Elvis Presley. In my mind, truth is defined as being in accordance with fact or reality. There will always be truth to every situation, as it is only possible for something to occur in one specific way. The problem encompassing the idea of truth is the reality that only one retelling of a specific situation can be the full truth. Each individual interprets situations differently. For this reason, in order for the truth to be told, one must simply state what was seen, leaving their personal emotions out of the situation. A story can be said to be true when it accurately portrays the account of which is being told.
Similar to a fast food restaurant, but more upscale with a better dining experience. Ells idea of keeping the menu simple with limited items to prepare delicious food efficiently helped to create a kitchen different from other fast food chains. Food preparation areas in Chipotle’s kitchens are similar to those of fine dining restaurants. Menu items are prepared from scratch and with fresh ingredients. Even the meats are prepped with marinades. Creating such recipes is very labor intensive, but having limited items to prepare assists in keeping the cost down. The focus on menu integrity is one of Chipotle’s advantages and is a key element to their marketing strategy. One way Chipotle is able to control their ingredients and maintain menu integrity is by controlling their suppliers. After working with certain suppliers, they created a list of approved vendors for the individual restaurants to purchase from. One reason was to try and help control costs. Healthier food items cost more and Chipotle wanted to keep the cost of their meals low for their customers, so they built relationships with certain suppliers. Eventually, they began to use distribution centers across the country that only purchased ingredients from their approved suppliers (Gamble, Peteraf, & Thompson, Jr., 2015). This approach separates Chipotle from competitors like Taco Bell. Serving high quality food at a competitive price point against other fast food
...on, race, and political belief, economic or social condition. Improving the poor health of disadvantaged individuals and reducing health gaps is important but not enough to level up health through socioeconomic groups. The objective of tackling health inequalities can be changed to local needs and priorities of a community allowing wide-ranging partnerships of support to be organised. However it needs to be made clear that what can be done to help improve the life chances and health prospects of individuals living in poverty may not come close to bringing their health prospects closer to the average of the rest of the population or prevent the gap living on throughout the generations. Being clear about what is trying to be overcome and achieved needs upmost importance in the development and delivery of policies that will promote health equality across the population.
We have all heard stories of a friend or family member trying to conceive but failing at it for unknown reasons. They spend years, thousands of dollars and many tears only to still not conceive. Then, the woman is finally given the diagnosis of endometriosis. Based on statistical evidence and studies endometriosis is the leading cause of infertility in woman of reproductive age. Not only is it a devastating diagnosis but also an extremely hard disease to diagnosis. At times getting misdiagnosed and ignored by medical professionals. Leading to more years of pain for the woman suffering from a very debilitating disease.
The company is driven by a strong set of values, even if some of those decisions increase its costs internally. This is especially the case with the sourcing of its ingredients and meats. In fact, the high-quality ingredients and advanced cooking methods used by Chipotle are second to no other fast-food chain. Among recent developments, the leader in fast-casual dining concepts plans to become absolutely GMO-free by the end of 2014. Although the aim is not new, it shows Chipotle’s commitment to bring fresh ingredients to the table. Besides offering high-quality meals to its customers, the portions are generously sized and the value is unmatched. There are very few places that can fill you up for less that $10 with quality food, and not junk. The triad of fresh, pure ingredients, cutting-edge cooking methods, and tremendous portions gives Chipotle a mouthwatering appeal.
In ancient Greece, women lacked many of the fundamental rights held by men. Medea feels that this is unjust. These feelings are shown on page 195 when Medea states “...we must pay a great dowry to a husband who will be the tyrant of our bodies; and there is another fearful hazard: whether we shall get a good man or a bad. For separations bring disgrace on the woman and it is not possible to renounce one’s husband…” After being rejected by the one she loved, she beings to question the morals of those around her. She assumes that Greek women are weak and naive for allowing men to treat them this way; allowing men to cast them away at their heart’s content.
Another casual night: the air is sticky, and the water is scarce, all throughout the country the sound of gunshots are ringing through the air. For most people, this “casual” night is beyond their wildest imagination, but for Syrians it is an ongoing nightmare. Faced with the trauma of a civil war, Syrian refugees seek protection and a more promising future than the life they currently live in their oppressive country. Many seek refuge in other Middle East countries like Turkey and Jordan, but others search for hope in the icon of freedom, the United States of America. However, in America, there is an ongoing debate about whether or not Syrian refugees should be accepted. America needs to accept the Syrian refugees because if they do not, the
