Classical Concert
Who likes classical music anyway? That is a question that you may have found me
asking a few months ago. As I have listened to the music in class and on my CD that
came with the text book, I have noticed that I am growing a little bit more fond of
this style of music. I had never really given it a chance until I started attending my
younger sister’s concerts and really paying attention to the music. I have realized that
classical music isn’t half bad. modern rock is still the music for me, but I have really
learned to like and respect classical music over the last few months. The last classical
concert I attended was a Christmas themed concert last week. Along with Christmas
favorites and carols, they played a song called Trepak, by Tchaikovsky. I had heard of
Tchaikovsky before, but had never seen any of his music performed live.
My first impression of the concert was that the players were all dressed in black
slacks or skirts and white tops. Some of them were wearing festive Santa Clause style
hats and some even had garland wrapped around their instruments. The orchestra played
first. They were all seated in a very specific order, facing the audience with the conductor
standing on a podium in front of them. As they began to play I was very impressed with
the level of skill that they played with, being only in high school. It sounded as if I was

The concert that I attended last Friday was an interesting one where I got to have some new experiences and learn about classical music.
In Rebel Music by Daniel Felsenfeld, he tells his story of how he became interested in classical music at a younger age, and could not break away from this interest. He began his story at the age of 17, after he had training in piano, and could play reasonably well. However, at this point he declared himself “by no means unmusical.” He also explains the times when he first found classical music, while visiting a friend he was asked if he wanted to hear “something really wild.” While he expected a rebellious theme or genre of music, such as goth, punk, edge, or another style, instead he pulled out a remarkable collection of classical pieces, and Felsenfeld immediately became hooked. He continues his narrative to his later years, as he discovers
classical music has been dead to the young. There have been many genres of music
opening band appeared. At this time, there were not very many people in the audience.
Our heart and souls at all times sense rejuvenated and lively with every beat of finest music we hear. Music comes in a variety of diverse forms which are admired and renowned for their own unique styles. Classical music is one of the breeds of musical forms that exist since many years with its visible significance in the music industry. Classical music is a part of our globe from almost 1000 years and inspires millions of people with its liveliness and simplicity.
I counted nineteen total performers with occasionally two others and a vocalist. Each performer was dressed in black pants and a black shirt except one who showed up late. He was wearing blue jeans and a sports coat and he definitely stood out from all the others. The performers related very well with the audience. Each acknowledged the audience after applauses and there was a narrator between pieces. There was a lot of humor among the performers and they seemed ...
In conclusion, many people have different opinions on the large variety of music. There are many to choose from. Most people would greatly prefer some music over others. I am not one to judge for this subject. I like many types. I think music has the same effect on everybody. No matter the
One performance that stood out to me during the concert was a song called Sinfonia #3 by J. C. Bach (Wind Ensemble Concert program). The reason I enjoyed this song was because it was performed by nine saxophone players. I would say
Classical eras were powerful, influential, and musically stimulating to the masses, forever engraving themselves in history and time.
One of the most prominent and popular types of music to come out of the
Classical music was best described by Mr. Dan Romano who clearly states that its art speaking from your heart to the heart of others. Bach’s Baroque time period of western music lead to some of the most known and widely recognized organ music, and it was Beethoven’s deafness that came to symbolize a fundamental change in the way we listen to classical music. Beethoven was the most beloved and influential composers of his time. Their music had flaws and that is what made it breathtaking, comfortable and easy to listen to. It is now known that between the lives of Bach and Beethoven we can understand that though their love for composing and classical music was the same in some aspects they were exact opposites in the end when it came to their genre, musical instruments and recognition.
...ike today. The period between the baroque and renaissance paved a new way for not only music, but for art. The change that took place was gorgeous causing art to become so vivid and images are portrayed to be so real. I never was a fan of art nor music, but if one actually pays attention to the evolvement of it throughout time one would have great appreciation.
If you ask the average young adult what comes to mind when they hear the term “music” they are likely to respond with a fresh singer, band, or genre of “pop” music. Often times society places their opinion of classical music and popular music on completely different wavelengths of importance in the world. The modern perception of classical vs. popular music has led to a heavily decreasing audience for classical groups and performances, a desire for repetitive and simple melodies, and a negative stigma against classical music’s importance.
The Symphony Orchestra concert was preformed by The OU School of Music with Jonathan Shames as a conductor and they presented Sutton Concert Series. In addition, the Orchestra concert performed at Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall in October 12, 2015.There were like forty-one performers on the stage including the conductor using different types of instruments and and all of them were wearing a nice black clothes. The stage was a quite large with wooden floor and there were two floors for the audience with a comfortable seating. However, all the performers were on round shape and against the conductor.
I like this style of music the best because it best represents who I am and what I enjoy. The lyrics to the songs during these times were mainly fun and easily understood compared to other genres of earlier music that seemed were very dark, depressing, or hard for me to understand or relate to.
