History of Home Schooling
Before public schools emerged, children were educated in the home by their parents. They were taught arithmetic, practical skills, and to read and write. Some wealthy families preferred hiring a tutor for their children (Koetzsch, 1997). In the 1840s, prominent leaders such as Horace Mann lead a movement to institute public schools in the United States (Thattai, 2001). These reformers argued that public schools would create good citizens, unite society, and prevent crime and poverty. As a result of their efforts, public elementary schools evolved in American society by the end of the 19th century. Massachusetts was the first state to pass a compulsory attendance law, ruling that all children had to attend at least elementary school (Thattai, 2001). By 1918, all states had the compulsory attendance law. Catholics weren’t happy with the public education system, so they instituted private schools (Thattai, 2001). When public institutions emerged, home schooling nearly vanished in the United States (Koetzsch, 1997).
Education critics began voicing concerns about public schools in the 1960’s (Hess, 2002). Some of the complaints against public schools included, preaching alien values, failing to adequately educate, and adopting unhealthy approaches to child development (Hess, 2002). Many parents joined the de- schooling movement based on a popular book by John Holt called How Children Learn. John Holt was a professor in Boston, who believed that children are born with the desire to learn and educate themselves. The book states that all children need the following for a successful education; materials, access to the “real world”, emotional support, freedom to explore, and time to assess idea...

A frame is to a painting, what a book cover is to a book and a title sequence to a film in that they’re all paratextual parergon’s. These works are changeable, sometimes not having any relation to the actual text, painting or film that they surround, however they can’t be removed because they become apart of the work. A paratext is something that has been created for a piece of work, but not by the original author of that work. They are also pieces of work that accessorise a main piece of work, otherwise known as a perergon. These paratexts might not be entirely necessary, although without them, certain elements of the works might be lost. A painting without a frame, would still be a painting, the same applies to a book and a film. Picture frames and book covers are not autonomous, there is little reason for a book or a frame other than the work it encompasses. Artists and designers strive to make them into beautiful objects and quite often they become known as just that in some ways making them unsuccessful in their purpose. Each paratext is similar and different from each other in many ways. The thing that ties them together is that they are all parergons.
Education is a very important concern in the hearts of Americans. . But what exactly is the best form of education. Homeschooling has gradually made its way into the education field as an acceptable and controversial form of education. Homeschooling can simply be defined as educating children at home or the community rather than at school (Withrow, 1999; Cromwell, 1998; Lines, 1995). An alternative definition would be, parents choosing the schooling for their children (What is Homeschooling, 2000).
Cloud computing is a way to increase the capabilities of a device or add new capabilities or services without making any hardware changes to the device. An example is if you are traveling and along the way you stop and power on your laptop to check your email. Some of the key cloud computing services being offered today address data storage. Storing important information and files in the cloud can ensure that they are available for years to come and can be accessed globally wherever Internet connectivity is available. Through cloud computing a handheld device, such as a table computer, can access the Internet, check email, purchase concert tickets or monitor a webcam on another continent. Computation and software are also two other key areas of cloud computing.
Teachers can often feel pressured by children asking questions as they feel that they are expected to know the answers, this can have an impact on allowing the children to begin science lessons with questions.(Ward et al, 2005, p. 46) Time is also a factor, teachers allocate a specific amount of time each week to fulfil the learning objective and feel that they do not have enough time for children to ask questions.
Cloud computing is a shared pool of configurable and well advanced computing resources, on-demand network access and is provisioned by the cloud service provider. The main advantage of cloud computing is a cost effective, Cloud computing is used by many software IT industries.
In the 1950s Cloud computing started with mainframe computing, where multiple users were able to access a central computer by using a dumb terminal, which had only one function, and that was to provide access to the mainframe. In the 1970s, the concept of virtual machines was created, by using the virtual machine technology it was possible to used more than one operating system simultaneously in a secluded environment. In 1993 cloud computing reached its first milestone with e-mail, which is a method of exchanging information/ data or digital messages through a computer network of the internet. Emails were originally a text based form of communication only, these days’ files like multimedia, images or PDFs can be attached. Today, cloud computing is a part of our everyday lives, we still use it to email, and now we use a more perfected cloud system to store applications or files and can access them anywhere and anytime.

Cloud computing is a style of computing where scalable and elastic IT capabilities are provided as a service to many users to consume in a pay-per-use and self-service way. Users are provided with dynamically scalable and virtualized resources as a service over the internet.
In the United States, an increasing number of parents are deciding to Home School their children because they are unhappy with the quality of education offered in public schools. Moreover, parents may have other reasons why they feel that public schools are not suitable for their children such as; social interaction. Parents worry their children will suffer from bullying or will be forced into antisocial behavior by peer pressure. They believe that the good behavior they have taught the child will be lost in school. Another reason is concern over the quality of schooling available. Schools frequently have large classes. They are often under-funded, and staffed by teachers without sufficient knowledge of their subjects. Subjects such as the family’s religion or language may not even be available in the school. Other parents may disagree with the aims of the school curriculum, preferring for academic, social or cultural reasons to keep their children separate. Finally, some children with special needs may need particular parental care.

Cloud computing focuses on satisfying user requirements and providing all the necessary applications whenever they are needed.
Parents have been teaching their children at home for centuries. During the 1970s, the interest in homeschooling increased. Legal advocates had lots of opposition when pressing for the legal right to educate their child at home and change compulsory school attendance. The National Education Association fought to place restrictions on home schooling. However, most of the efforts have failed. As a result, homeschooling is legal in every state.

...the time of their publication. However people could not resist the lure of an ‘escape’ offered by the gothic novels and short fictions, the exploration of the horrifying consequences that could be brought around by the new science of the time such as in the stories ‘The Lifted Veil’ and ‘The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’, which then could lead on to novels such as ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ and ‘The Black Cat’ both of which feature a character descending into madness, a ‘illness’ much feared at the time. Novels like ‘The Black Cat’ and ‘The Lifted Veil’ also offer the idea of the ‘supernatural’, something that fascinated the Victorians as well as instilled fear in them. Overall, in my opinion, the elements of gothic in fiction sensationalised the stories being told and created an allure that was irresistible both to the Victorians and the modern reader today.
