Pediatric and Adult Migraines
Many people are surprised to find that children get migraines. It is one of those illnesses that are associated with adults only. A migraine is an intense, pounding headache with nausea that occurs infrequently. The headache starts around the eyes, the forehead, or the sides of the head. Bright lights and loud noises also make the headache worse, and any movements make this headache worse. Migraines last from a few hours to a few days in serious cases (1).
Over 8 million children get migraines a year, which results in over 1 million lost schooldays cumulatively. 20% of adolescents in high school suffer from migraines as well. Pediatric migraines commonly stop when a child becomes an adult. Migraines occurring prior to puberty are about evenly split between boys and girls, and after puberty many more girls than boys experience them. Older children experience migraine pain typically on only one side of the head. Younger children, however, experience pain on both sides of the head. Some people also see a "warning aura," which is a pattern of lines or shadows in front of their eyes as the headache starts (2). Types of migraines are therefore classified as either common (no aura warning) or classic (with aura warning). Aura symptoms usually occur 30 to 60 minutes before the acute headache and generally are resolved by that time (3).
Why are pediatric and adult migraines different?
There are many different stimulants that trigger a migraine headache. Certain foods, like cheese, processed meats, chocolate, caffeine, MSG, nuts, or pickles are common triggers. Stress and too much exercise can also trigger an attack (1).
Most children with migraines have a family history of ...

The exact mechanism of migraine headaches has not yet been elucidated. Gene studies, combined with the high correlation of family history with migraine susceptibility, give considerable evidence for a significant geneti...
Jane did explain that since the history of migraine headache had been going on for years it was going to take a while prior to seen any results but it was going to take some lifestyle changes other than the acupuncture to achieve the goal. The author left the office in a great note. Unable to gauge the results of the treatment yet but with a hopeful outlook for the future.
Almost all the sources have indicated that there are little to no benefits of keeping a brain dead patient on ventilation. Taking a closer look into; brain dead criteria; organ donation; the cost of keeping a patient on life support and case studies on those who have been misdiagnosed it will be possible to draw an accurate conclusion on whether or not there are benefits of keeping a brain dead patient on life support.
Today, I want to share my knowledge on migraines with the help of three descriptions.
Aura symptoms need to be documented in the history as with all other documentation of diagnosing headaches. Migraines are more frequent in the early morning, although the attack may occur any time throughout a day. Migraines cause throbbing head pain, nausea, changes in the appetite, discomfort to be in lighted area, and discomfort with sounds. The pain can be debilitating or moderate in pain depending on the severity, duration, states, current medication use and triggers. MOH are more common cause with migraines, although triggers are unique and vary from smells, sleep changes, medications, stress, anxiety, depression, hormonal factors, to unknown etiology, furthermore each patient treatment should be
Finally, one can conclude the argument by commenting on the duchess’ role in the above-mentioned scheme of things. The duchess heroically battles her brother’s incestuous rage by not only defying him in marrying below her rank but also by dying a heroic death. In her marrying below her station critics have read her forward-looking stance ‘that enables proto –bourgeois companionate marriage to begin hiving off its territory’- thereby, giving a solid rebuttal to the parochial notion of incest.
The reason for conducting this study was to investigate how efficient surgery would be for patients who are experiencing a migraine in one or several areas.
“The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) estimates that fully 90% of adults will experience one or more headaches during their life… About two-thirds of children have had a headache of one type or another by the time they reach the age of 15 years” (Pray, 2014). Making headaches one of the top complaints patients have when visiting the doctor's office. Due to the wide spectrum of headaches it is important for a patient to know when the option of self treatment with over the counter drugs is relevant, and when it is time to seek further medical care by a physician. The patient can make this decision by first knowing what kind of headache they are having, which will allow them to make the call of what to do next in terms of treatment. These are the topics that will be discussed in the following.
In Nursing, there are four main fundamental patterns of knowing to follow. The first pattern is called empirics, the science of nursing. Next is called esthetics which is the art of nursing. The third pattern to follow is the component of personal knowledge in nursing. Last is known as the pattern of ethics, the component of moral knowledge in nursing. Each of the patterns are very different in their own ways. However, nurses should utilize all four patterns when making decisions and giving care to their patients.
...onologue portrays a character that is as decrepit and maniacal as the language is beautiful. The duke is shown to be a controlling, a man who finds fault in the innocence of his wife’s youth, and condemns her to death. His controlling nature is evident from the start, in the way he dictates the emissary’s actions telling him when to sit and rise, and his pride that no one is allowed to draw the curtain but him. He has, in his imagination, reduced his once lovely wife to a mere possession, and refers to her painting as ‘a piece’ of wonder. Such is his ego that carrying on a normal conversation with his bride or telling her what he expects from her is considered by him to be beneath him. He chooses not to talk to her about her faults, which are naught but a liveliness of nature, a happy disposition, and a yearning for life, but rather ends that which he cannot control.
One theory suggests that migraines are manifested by a phenomenon called cortical spreading depression (CSD). The patient may experience an aura prior to the start of migraine pain. CSD is described as a local disturbance of the brain function that is characterized by a temporary, local suppression of the spontaneous electrical activity in the cortex that spreads over this region of the brain, and appears to be the symptom of CSD (Sprenger and Goadsby, 2009).
The Duke of Ferrara was made jealous by everything the duchess did, no matter how unimportant it was. He was especially jealous of Fra Pandolf, the man who painted the duchess in the poem. A woman should be pleased only by her husband, as was not the case with the duchess and Fra Pandolf. She was “too easily impressed'; by the painter (line 23). Fra Pandolf was not the only man that made the duke jealous. Everyone who passed the duchess received “much the same smile'; as the duke (line 44). The duke expected to be the only man to receive a smile from his wife.
Inequalities of power associated with gender and social status are highlighted in the relationship between The Duchess and Antonio, and the reactions of others towards their relationship.
In conclusion, this essay has discussed the importance of the passage, analysed the language of the extract, considered the bigotry and corruption of the era, highlighted the feminine ‘heroine’ aspects of the play and discussed the possible performance possibilities of Act 1V, Scene 4-lines 1-59 of The Duchess of Malfi.
However, the negative impact was a horrible depletion of natural resources in Malaya because the British took the resources and exported them out and left not much for the locals anymore. Despite the negative effects had brought bad impact to the country, it was also one of the things that have strengthened the country. It had provided an acceleration of development for the country.
