The Internet as a Beneficial Learning Tool for Students
The Internet, commonly referred to as the “information superhighway,” is a tool that has been introduced to classrooms around the world because of its popularity, which has been gaining steadily in the past years. The Internet is a network of computers in which users can share files and complete many other tasks. Many people and groups have voiced concerns of whether the Internet’s benefits in classroom and educational use outweigh the negative effects. From recent studies and personal experiences, I have come to the decision that the benefits certainly outweigh the negative effects. I believe that the students who use information technology such as the Internet regularly in their schoolwork are benefiting greatly rather than losing out.
The Internet is information technology that has been said to have many downfalls for students when being used in the education process. Some areas of the country have limited access to computers and the Internet. These students who have limited resources would be falling behind by pushing more online work on the students who do have access to the resources. In my paper I have described methods which I think will help bridge this “digital divide” that has been created.
Another example problem that is created when information technology such as the Internet is brought into classrooms is that things change quicker than teachers can keep up with. “This places a special burden on already overworked teachers to continue learning new resources and changing their teaching methods.” (LaRose, 2000)

...teachers that fall behind because of the rapidly changing technology can be solved swiftly will a few grants from the U.S. Department of Education and the implementation of new online programs to help ease pressures. Although there maybe a few glitches that need to be worked out, in a short time I feel it will completely necessary for tomorrow.

The Chesapeake region and New England colonies greatly differed in their development of their two distinct societies. The Chesapeake region was a loosely fitted society with little connection with each plantation while the New England colonies had tightly knitted communities with a sort of town pride. The difference in unity and the reason for this difference best explain the significant disparity between the dissimilar societies.
Since energy is a necessary part of how an organism survives, how it obtains it’s energy is crucial. When you look at an ecosystem, and all the organisms living within that ecosystem, you can link many of the species together by their dependence on each other. Scientists will look at these links to see how they depend on each other, or in other words, where their main source of energy and nutrition is. Once that step is determined, scientists will assign that group of species to a trophic level; to either the primary producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, or the tertiary consumers.
It is another extremely hectic Monday in the Emergency Department. The waiting room is building up fast with many new walk-in patients. Fire Rescue trucks are calling one after the next with several medical and trauma cases. The hospital supervisor is calling to inform the Charge Nurse of the Emergency Department that the Operating Room has several cases that need beds and will supersede the Emergency Department admits. Patient through put will now be further delayed. In the early 1600’s there was the development of New England and Chesapeake Bay colonies, and even though they were both settled by people mainly of the English origin by 1700 they became very two distinct societies. As the two colonies evolved, they developed contrasting economies, societies and institutions.
Working in the health care setting, teamwork and collaboration are used frequently to insure that everything runs correctly and efficiently. According to qsen.org, teamwork and collaboration consists of functioning effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care. While both the people of the New England region and of the Chesapeake region descended from the same English origin, by 1700 both regions had traveled in two diverse directions. Since both of these groups were beset with issues that were unique to their regions and due to their exposure to different circumstances, each was forced to rethink and reconstruct their societies. As a result, the differences in the motivation, geography, and government in the New England and Chesapeake regions caused great divergence in the development of each.
During the 1600’s the New England and Chesapeake regions were beginning to settle and colonize. While both came from English origin and had dreams of wealth and freedom, differences began to form just as they settled and by the 1700s the two regions will have evolved into two distinct societies. Because of the exposure to different circumstances both regions developed issues that were unique from one another and caused them to construct their societies differently. Therefore, the differences socially, politically and economically in the two regions caused the divergence.

I want my students to have the full benefits of me as a teacher and I believe learning about different educational theories will help me be a better teacher. In particular from this article I will take away that teachers are needed to help rear students to the right information and help them focus on what information is reliable. I also will take in consideration my own techniques as a student. I am guilty of multitasking during assignments and even “googlification”. I think the internet has benefited my generation in many ways but has also done a disservice on real research. I hope as a future teacher to really teach my students to research and find valid, reliable, and understanding information of the internet. A teacher in this new generation must adapt to the technology available to students and realize they will be using these resources. I hope to find a balance in my classroom between technology, self-educating, and learning
Analysis of the external environment is very important for the development strategy of the organization and a very complex process requiring a process tracking and assessment factors and also the establishment of links between those factors and the strengths and weaknesses as well as opportunities and threats. External environment has its complexity and uncertainty. It is obvious that without knowing the environment the organization can not exist. The organization studies the environment in order to secure a successful progress towards its goals.
Andy Carvin states “ internet access in schools isn’t worth a hill of beans if teachers aren’t prepared to take full advantage of technology” (2000). Schools spend a lot of money on computer hardware and software as well as other technologies without realizing that many of their employees are unprepared to include them in their teaching and use them to their advantages. Educators often use technology as a classroom management tool rather than an educational one, allowing computer time as a reward for good behavior (Clark & Gorski, 2001). The problem with this is that students learn to use the computer for games and such because it is their reward instead of using it on their own time for educational purposes. This is teaching them the wrong idea. Margaret Honey, director of the Center for Children and Technology in NYC said it best, “The bottom line is, you don’t just put technology into schools or into homes and expect miracles to happen. The technology is only as good as the program that surrounds it” (Meyer, 2002, p.2).
Everything revolves around the internet these days. Every business, big or small has a internet website for you to visit. Let’s face it, the internet is not going away, we as a people must learn to use this tool and not think of it as a negative thing. The internet must be used positively to benefit us. We can find anything we want through the internet. The internet can be abused but we must educate our children so they can use it effectively to their advantage. We definitely need to make most schools have the internet in classrooms, there is no doubt about it.
As time goes by, advances in technology will provide more and more avenues for learning by way of the computer. The Internet has opened the doors of the world and unleashed limitless possibilities in research and education. It may be only a matter of time when the classroom is brought online to all children and attending a school classroom outside the home is a thing of the past. Looking back over the last 20 years, I never would have imagined that computers would come this far and impact our lives so much. Just imagine where they will be 20 years from now.
