The Analysis of MIS Systems
Target Setting
The target is the aim that you set out to achieve and setting is how
you go about it. Setting is the planning stage.
Target setting is about setting yourself a goal that you set out to
achieve.
An example of target setting in the police force to tackle crime rates
– Reduce crime rate would be the target and the setting would be how
to go about reducing crime rates (e.g. recruit more policeman).
Example of Target Setting
Thames Valley Police have set a set a target (Target Setting) to
tackle crime. They have prepared a five year strategy and this
includes targets for the reduction of crimes where there has been a
particular increase i.e. violent crimes and robberies. Thames Valley
Police have come up with this plan because crime rates have been
rising in the area for the past year and they hope to reduce crime as
a result of this plan.
I have included the Thames Valley Police Crime Reduction Strategy and
this can be looked at in appendix 1.
Forecasting
Forecasting is predicting what is going to happen in the future. These
predictions can come from looking at past results/figures and
patterns.
An example of forecasting would be looking at the budget required for
a police station for the upcoming year. To achieve this the budgets
given in the past years would need to be looked at and the increasing
needs of the police station would also have to be looked into. For
example, if more police officers were required for the new year then
the wage demands, training costs, recruiting costs etc would need to
be taken into account when forecasting the budget.

Personnel Database
This database provides information and records of police officers. It
provides services to inquiries on personnel records such as
disciplinary actions and education. This is useful MIS because it
keeps track on all people employed and provides records upon them.
Salary Database
This database contains salary records of every police officer and is
linked to the Personnel Database. This is also a good MIS because it
helps aid when paying salaries and gives information on wages costs.
It can help in auditing.
Overall I feel that MIS systems are very useful and can aid in many
aspects of running an organisation. Although MIS have their
disadvantages, which I have talked about above (such as costs and
extra training) I believe that the advantages outweigh these
disadvantages.

Goal setting theory assumes that behavior results from an individual’s mindful objectives and purposes. Goals impact conduct by guiding energy and attention, supporting determination over time, and encouraging the individual to cultivate schemes in order to attain goals. It submits that learning can be aided by giving learners precise thought-provoking aims and objectives. The impact of goal setting theory can be appreciated in the advance of

Since the publishing of the goal setting theory by Locke and Latham (1990), there have been a series of follow up research on the various elements of goal setting likely to influence goal attainment. A number of studies, based off of the discovery of the ponderous influence of goal setting on success, scrutinizing the effects of goals on moderating factors in achievement like self efficacy (Elson & Ginis, 2004), motivation (Elliot & Harackiewicz, 1994), goal sources, commitment, performance and numerous others have been conducted.
“Success is not a brilliant strategy; it’s about a brilliant execution (Womack, C.D. 2003,10 page 48).” Goal setting can lead to success through motivation. Establishing what are called, SMART Goals is one way to set up motivation through goals. SMART stands for; specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and
The population increased by 9.8% corroborating that gentrification has a good influence on bringing people to the new and improve Eastside (Doc C). Also, five hundred businesses were established, making it easier for eastside to make a profit. However, still violent crimes were growing by 36% which is to high due to gentrification and the improve Eastside. Setting clear goals and objectives plays a vital role to achieve the targeted goals. So, all the team members should be aware of the clear goals and the expectation so that they can put all their effort and achieve the success.
I ensure goals I set I reach them and as I reach them I take my goals on the next step which is higher than the last one.

Goals are defined as, “what does each person want” (Wilmot & Hocker, 2011, p.72) Goals can also so be viewed as, and end or desired result. In regards to goals, we often try to reach and accomplish goals in our relationships. However, we often don’t achieve these goals due to existing conflicts, poor communication, or conflict styles.
Target setting is where Public Health England will try and reduce the risk of something within a certain amount of time, so it doesn't impact to many people, or to try and improve something in a certain amount of time. This could be improving vaccinations, or trying to find a way to reduce dementia.
Setting goals is the most important thing you can do in your life. Without goal's you are going to have no direction, no ambition to be successful, no drive to stay in school, and trouble finding a career that will provide for you. Without these three things, achieving your goals is going to be one of the toughest tasks in the years to come.

Goal setting is key in motivation; goals need to be clear, sharp, and realistic. To make these feel more achievable it is better to break these down into smaller medium-term goals and medium-term goals into short-term goals so that you have a clear connection between what one does every day and their long-term goals.
Setting goals and priorities are an important part of any successful plan. By setting goals you are making a statement about what you wish to accomplish. Goals provide you with focus and motivation. You are more likely to get things done when you set goals for yourself. Priorities are the key to helping you to meet those goals. Priories help you to determine what tasks need to be done and when. Setting priorities keeps you on track and on time.
