The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time - Original Writing

Christopher Boone is a fifteen year old boy with Asperger’s Syndrome.
He knows a great deal about maths and has a very logical way of
thinking. Christopher knows very little about human beings and their
behaviour and gets very confused and frustrated by most conversations.
He loves lists, timetables, patterns and the truth. He hates the
colour yellow, because of custard, bananas and double yellow lines and
he also hates the colour brown because of dirt, gravy and wood. One of
the affects of his Asperger’s syndrome means Christopher also hates
being touched. He has never gone further than the end of the road on
his own, but when he finds his neighbour Mrs Shears’ pet poodle
Wellington has been murdered he sets out on a frightening journey
which will turn his whole world upside down.

Christopher is the narrator and detective of the events that take
place in this murder mystery. He is a young boy dealing with the death
of his mother in the best way he knows how, this means that he is
determined to find out what has happened to Wellington. He writes
clues in a book which he carelessly leaves for his father to find. His
father asks him to stop with his silly investigation and removes the
book from Christopher’s possession. While Christopher is looking
around his fathers bedroom for the confiscated book, he discovers
several hidden letters in a shirt box in his fathers wardrobe, after
reading just a few he starts to wonder about the mysterious way in
which his father prevented him from visiting his mother in hospital.
After speaking with one of his neighbour’s about Well...

...d expression appears on Christopher’s face as he moves
forwards and back again several times watching the automatic door open
and close. A man is approaching and Christopher is quite oblivious to
this as he is playing contentedly with the door.

The man is tall, slim and wearing a grey Swindon railway uniform, as
he gets closer to Christopher we see his reflection in the glass
automatic doors. He sees what Christopher is doing and shouts:

‘Hey, boy, stop messing with that door’

Christopher jumps and looking horrified by this stranger’s tone, and
moves swiftly back to the train timetable, the man stops for a moment,
frowns at Christopher and then continues through the door and into the
station.

Christopher again checks for people approaching and makes his move
towards the door and enters.

The Night - Original Writing Essay

- I woke up to a curious noise one morning. My eight year old brain came up with no explanation so I stepped into the hall, hands in the pockets of my blue jeans I usually slept in. I saw pots and pans on the floor catching rain. That was the new sound I would soon be used to. Our house had reached the point of leaking. At least the sound was relaxing. What wasn’t relaxing was the back door. It didn’t stay shut even if you locked it. One night I woke up from a nightmare and had a perfect view of the back door slowly creeping open....   [tags: English-language films, Sleep, Sibling, Parent]

Essay on The Night - Original Writing

- Noises she couldn 't understand because of how odd they were. She had mentioned it to Steven and his younger sister Rachel. Her sister-in-law had tried to understand. 'You hear noises, like what. ' 'Ah, you know, people talking, when nobody 's in the room, banging at night. Yet, I 'm the only person who keeps hearing these noises. ' 'What has Steven said when you told him. ' Now lying in bed, Fiona thought about what Steven said. 'You should go to your doctor. ' Fiona saw his point; the nightmare concerning the old could easily be explained, they were just bad dreams....   [tags: Fuck, Profanity, 2005 singles]

The Forbidden Forest - Original Writing Essay

- The Forbidden Forest - Original Writing "Mom. Johnny’s not helping me get ready for dinner!" exclaimed my sister at the top of her puny but blatant lungs. "Yes, I am." I called upstairs to the room where my mother lay in a soundless slumber. "Would you shut-up. She’s resting, you know. She is exhausted!" I tried to whisper to my sister, Emma. My mother worked two jobs to keep us alive. Six years had passed since the day my father died. Nobody really knows how he died, but from what my mom told me, Emma the curious little girl that she was, and still is, walked into the terrifying, damp forest across the condensed street....   [tags: Papers]

The Worst Of Times - Original Writing Essay example

- “It’s the best of times, it’s the worst of times.” This is a quote I heard long ago before I had started my four year journey here at Northview. Though I had no idea how accurate and meaningful this quote would be to me back then, it always stood out to me as a something short, sweet, and to the point that sums up what high school is; let me explain. Flashback to when I was 14 and just finished junior high school at Arbor Hills. It was a great three years and I actually learned a lot about people and myself, but I was not prepared for high school courses and the faster more demanding pace of the curriculum....   [tags: High school, Secondary school, Middle school]

Original Writing Essay

- Original Writing I had just arrived home at about 1am, I had just finished work, and Joe had just walked me home. We had had a busy night at work and a lot of fun. After running round in the kitchens all night I was so tired I went straight to bed. Whilst laid in bed starting to drift off I began to think about Joe, and how much I loved him, until I finally dropped off to sleep, and became enveloped in my dream. I was sitting in a room that I didn't recognise. It was quite dark....   [tags: Papers]

Essay on Original Writing

- Original Writing At the end of the corridor, the closed door was waiting. It had been closed for many years. The room which patiently waited behind it had a haunting past, but this evening the door had to be opened. It was nearing the end of the eighteenth century. The door and it's long, endless corridor were part of an enourmous country house, a very old house which had seen many new family members, many deaths, many betrayals and knew many secrets. The family decided it was time to move on to a new place....   [tags: Papers]

Dirtylocks and the Three Pigs - Original Writing Essay

- Dirtylocks and the Three Pigs - Original Writing Once, in a place, in a time, that is to say, once upon a time, there lived a not so beautiful young woman named Dirtylocks. She was called this because she had long locks of hair that looked almost like dirt because of their dark brown colour and she was fond of playing in any mud or dirt she could find, around where she lived in the woods. Her friends would often complain to Dirtylocks for ruining her party dresses, which she wore before a night out in the forest with her friends....   [tags: Papers]

The Perfect Love - Original Writing Essay

- The Perfect Love Five months ago, I started dating a guy named, Michael. Michael was a handsome gentleman whom I saw a future with. He was the type of guy that no matter how many times he entered my house, the first thing he’d do was shake my father’s hand. I was surely impressed with him and I think my parents were, too. We weren’t only just dating, but we were best friends. We told each other anything and everything. We often danced in my parent’s living room to music not from our era, which made it feel even more special....   [tags: English-language films, Love, Elvis Presley]

Horror Movie - Original Writing Essay

- My hands were clenched tightly around the armrest of my couch, ten minutes in to my first horror movie. I was in middle school as a 7th grader, brand new to the world of sleepovers, late nights, and scary movies. My best friend invited me over for a sleepover on a Friday night to pig out on candy, and watch a movie that would surely leave us with nightmares for a long time. I did not show it and neither did my friend, but I was apprehensive whether or not this was a good idea. I could hear my mom in the back of my head at the time saying, “scary movies are for adults, and you will regret it if you watch one.” We both acted like the movie we were about to watch, wasn’t a bigger deal than it a...   [tags: Horror film, Film, Horror and terror, Halloween]

Narrative Essay - Original Writing

- I shot up in bed, still feeling the rapid thundering in my chest. My neck was drenched in sweat. I felt chills down my spine as it instantly cooled. I looked around my room – empty, dark, and quiet. I felt relieved, yet overwhelmed with sadness. This dream occurs more and more often as I get older. It starts off in a child’s bedroom in a small apartment. I can smell the smoke and see myself as a child. I am crying and screaming for “Mommy!” There was no fire in the room, but I could see dark air coming through the crack of the door....   [tags: Feeling, English-language films, 2007 singles]
