Teachings of the Bible and the Christian Church About Human Responsibility for the World The Bible contains many teachings about our human responsibility towards the created world. It talks about the start of creation in Genesis. Here it is made clear that human beings are made in the image of God so that they can continue his good work. At the outset they are given power over the rest of creation and now if all humans work together to make the world a better place they will be more powerful so it will happen, but even if just a few people are not willing to help then all will fall apart (see poster). The other implication here is that the power comes with responsibility. The role of human beings is therefore to act as responsible caretakers. The book of Genesis also makes it quite clear that what God had created was perfect and that therefore we, as caretakers, had to keep it that way. In Psalms there is a tribute to the beauty of God's creation (Psalm 19). In the early verses, the Psalm points out that everything in this world reflects the glory of God because everything does what its supposed to do. Things follow God's law, which is the natural law. The Psalm then goes on to say that human beings, like the rest of creation, must do what they are supposed to do and we already know from Genesis that human beings are meant to look after the created world. The Psalm also points out that human beings will never be truly happy if they do not do what they are supposed to do. Furthermore, this should not be a problem because the laws of the Lord are good and just and therefore "they are more desirable that the finest gold, they are... ... middle of paper ... ...d Tutu spoke out consistently against the atrocities of apartheid and ensured that it was put onto the world stage as an issue that needed to be addressed The Quakers promote the equality of all people. They say that within everyone, there is a seed of goodness (a seed of God), which should be encouraged to flourish. This belief means that Quakers are totally anti-war because all life is valuable and unique. Furthermore, at their meetings there is no leader, all are equal and will only speak if moved to do so by the spirit of God. We must conclude from this that if Christians accept God as their creator and acknowledge that God loves them so much that he made them in his image, they must also take responsibility for their actions and make very effort to preserve and care for the planet and all that lives on it.

Many people would not believe that worldview would be involved in the topic of work, but it certainly is. Worldview stretches throughout almost every facet of our lives and is even an intricate part of work. Christian and secular viewpoints differ immensely when it comes to work. Many Christians believe that work is an intricate part of God’s plan for mankind while the secular viewpoint sees it as more of a personal, everyday activity the serves no more of a purpose that that of personal success. The secular worldview has distorted the context of work and only the Christian worldview can redeem it to its original context.
Although a worldview ensues what a person believes about the great questions of life, a biblical worldview stands far more intense since it’s filtered through the bible and the outlook stays Christ focused. The book of Romans in the Bible provides an example of what a biblical worldview should be like. As a result of Paul’s truths in Romans 1-8, believers have been able to grasp an understanding of the teachings that express the idea of a biblical worldview that God intended us to perceive.
Sociology is an extremely valuable tool in understanding how society and individuals interact, function, develop, and change. The study of sociology seeks to make sense of what occurs in front and behind the scenes in a society. For the purpose of clarification, society is defined as a “comprehensive, territorially based social grouping that includes all the social institutions required to meet basic human needs” (Popenoe, 86). We live in a secular world and in a society permeated with sin. As Christians we need to have a proper, Biblical response to society and the world around us.
Lynn Malone, is currently the senior pastor at First United Methodist Church in Monroe, Louisiana. On June 13, 2008, Malone gave a homily that entailed a very key component of the Christian faith, the church. In this homily, the main concept of the homily is the church as being one whole entity. Throughout the homily, numerous examples are given that exemplify this concept. I will be discussing two themes more in depth throughout this paper, the Christian Church as one entity, and the universality of Christianity and Christ’s teachings.
"The purpose of developing a Christian view of the world is not merely to evaluate and judge the world, but to change it," (Boa, 2004). Having a Christian worldview is hard enough in American but add in the entire world and it can be a little trickier. Thinking Christianly has a major impact on how someone would do business overseas, in a global economy. When it comes to a Christian worldview in a global economy there are numerous issues that can come up. Different countries and cultures have different things that they deem acceptable; however, when you are looking at it from a Christian standpoint you may have to handle things in a different manner. Just because something is acceptable or legal in the world does not make it acceptable to someone with a Christian worldview. John 17:17 says that, "The word is truth," so when one is looking for direction and guidance in any aspect of business he will always know that the word of God is truth that he can turn to. Although the field of business has many negative connotations with Christianity there are also positive ones. There are two main issues that this paper will address. The first issue, pollution, can be view negatively. The second issue, job opportunities, can be view positively.

Defense of the Humanity of Christ. Jesus Christ was without a doubt a real, living, breathing human being. His human nature is separate and distinct from His divine nature, yet unified in the person that He is. He was not God merely making himself appear as a person: He was truly human. Jesus's humanity is very clear from the testimony of scripture and records of his life.

Luther’s later years following his excommunication were not nearly as central to the fractioning of the Catholic church. He would, in fact, later distance himself from the more radical followers that would characterize some the years immediately following his writings. His primary contributions to the Protestant faith were his writings and the notion that salvation should be rooted in faith rather than practice. His influence on Western Christianity is immeasurable, and is best examined by understanding the development of Protestant church and its modern manifestations.
