Among the millions of places there are to visit in the world, one of the best has to be the state of Ohio. Ohio has hundreds of attractions. One thing Ohio is famous for is its amusement parks. The three major amusement parks in Ohio are: Cedar Point, Six Flags and King's Island. Each one of these parks has it's own style, rides attractions and prices.
One of Ohio's most famous theme parks is Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. Cedar Point is the number one rated amusement park on the planet. The 364-acre resort containing many rides, hotels and RV parks was established in the 1880's and has attracted millions of people since it's creation. The initial creation of Cedar Point was not it's rides, but it's beach. In 1870, a man named Louis Zistel discovered the extreme popularity the beaches had and setup up a boat that would take island goers to the island for a relaxing day in the sun. On the island there were bands, food and festivals. It wasn't until 1888 that the founders of Cedar Point became serious about making it a popular resort. In 1888 the famous Grand Pavilion was built. Here, everyone could enjoy a fine meal, entertainment by The Great Western Band and Orchestra. Throughout the years, Cedar Point had many new bands and buildings go up, attracting more and more people.

Disneyland marked the onset of theme parks in the nation, which was carved out of a fantasy tale and it has been the leader for 60 years. And, there was virtually no competition to the attraction quotient that attracted people and tourists to visit the theme park.
I woke up early in the morning with pure excitement. Today, I was heading to Cedar Point with my long time close friend, Sarah. The sun was shining, it was the perfect mood to go to an amusement park. My mom and I drove through the flat cornfields of Ohio, to her farmhouse. Once I picked up Sarah, we were headed to America’s Rockin’ Roller-Coast also known as Cedar Point. Cedar Point is on a peninsula surrounded by the fresh waters of Lake Erie located . It's actually quite nice, if you don't include the often high winds which often force the employees to close the rides due to the high risk of liability and the frequent nats. The Dragster is sitting smack dab in the middle of the park's midway. The height makes the dragster something that you can’t miss, especially on the causeway.
We began with the typical touristy attractions; the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Soho, Central Park, and shopping. We had been planning this trip for months and had poured over every detail. From the time the plane landed, we were living by a minute-to-minute schedule. This was a well organized trip and The Great White Way was not on the agenda. Or so we thought.
