What the Green Party Represents and What They Believe
When I was assigned this Environmental I-search project, I was not too thrilled about the idea of me having to research subjects that have to do with nature. My first challenge was finding a topic, which I found interesting, and intrigued me into looking further into this topic. My first choice was going to be researching the Casa Grande Fish Hatchery. I had chosen this topic because I have many friends that work in the hatchery, but never really knew why the hatchery was there, or what was done inside. But I encountered a problem when I discovered that I would not be able to interview any one over break. After thinking about another topic I could base my project on, I began to think about the green party.
During the last presidential election, it seemed a lot of people were looking towards the option of voting for Ralph Nader, the leader of the green party, to be our next president. But it seems no one really knows what the green party represents, and what they believe. Before I started this project, I knew very little about the green party’s beliefs, and practices. All I knew is that they were into conserving nature, and thought of them as the hippie type. Basically I thought that they were interested in plants and greenery, and that their best interest was just to keep the earth clean in a matter that we can live on it for many years to come. There was a lot I wanted to learn about the green party, but I didn’t know where to start. I didn’t know what I wanted to know, all I knew is that I wanted to know more about this somewhat hidden party. I began to write down some questions, and comparing what I know about the other parties, and seeing if I could maybe clear ...

...ink there is a good chance I might in the future. It seems like a good political party that would benefit every one, and solve a lot of inequalities in this country. Although I was not able to interview any one o the green party, the information I found online was enough to tell me this is a very well put together political party with great ideas.

The political cartoon by Nick Anderson depicts Ralph Nader standing at a podium addressing American society’s “throw away mentality”. Meanwhile a citizen in the background is casting her vote for the green party behind him. Ironically, the ballot drops into a waste basket, thus a wasted vote. We now realize that Nader is not talking about the environment, but addressing the issue of how the general public views votes for 3rd party candidates. This cartoonist feels that we should reform our views on 3rd party candidates and vote for who we think would make the best president, despite there chance of winning or not.
Libertarians often called out the unethical and untrustworthy practices of the government. Most people who supports the Green Party are environmental conscious. The Green Parties supporters are for equality amongst all citizens and non-violence social reform. Both these parties called for a change from the unjust government practices, the representatives tap into the building frustration of its communities. Often casting blame onto the society that governs them. Although very few, we win office. They do caused a big impact on who could win office. Many voters vote for these representatives simply because they are tired with the current state of the nation.
The Green Party of Canada, also known as the GPC, is a minor Canadian federal political party that is known for preaching ecological wisdom. Founded in November of 1983 in Ottawa, GPC currently holds one seat in the House of Commons. GPC was highly motivated by observing the West German Green Party, which overcome great odds to win 27 parliamentary seats.2 Over the past several years, GPC has made remarkable strides to advance its political platform and gain a voice in the House of Commons. In 2000, GPC received only 0.8% of the votes and received zero seats in the House. However, GPC heavily improved in the 2004 federal election, winning 4.3% of the votes. After this “electoral breakthrough,” GPC earned a great deal of respect and garnered attention in the mass media.2 More importantly, by receiving 4.3% of the votes, GPC qualified for federal funding. By doing so, GPC received much-needed subsidies that would eventually play a huge role in its emergence in Canadian politics. Four years later in the 2008 federal election, GPC received 6.8% of the votes to ensure that green issues would be discussed in policy agendas of Canadian government.
In the beginning of the sixth chapter, the narrator meets another important person on the Farley Mowat. Her name was Kalifi Moon Ferretti-Gallon, which was the daughter of Gary Gallon, who started the Greenpeace with Watson in 1972. Also, Kalifi's best friend, Emily Hunter's dad was one of the pioneers of the Greenpeace. The third cook, Casson Trenor is introduced in the chapter, too. Other than cooking Keson believed in The oceans on the ocean total ecosystem collapse. He also stated that seven million tons of ocean life is tossed away and slaughtered. It is also explained that there is five wheels of the Farley. Which is bridge, deck, galley, and the media. In the chapter it is stated, that the cost of $250,000 keeps the society running

The essay begins with sections on “ Greenness” and “The Green Man in the Open”;
Although the Freedom Socialist Party doesn’t have a member from their own party running on the ticket for President, they have endorsed other candidates.
After several days of taking notes in class, filling out my Value Worksheet and Issues handout, and discovering the results from these handouts, I have concluded my political philosophy is liberal. In addition to these in class activities, my liberal view on many issues has influenced which political party I feel the comfortable with–the Democratic Party–and which political sub-group–the Tea Party–I feel the least comfortable with. However, my liberalness really stands out in the issues I consider important-immigration, education, and healthcare-as I advocate for the people who do not have access to these basic and essential resources.
My Political Views are most consistent with the Libertarian Party. Libertarian party fights for the personal freedoms of every American. The Libertarian Agenda includes restoring Constitutional Government, legalizing narcotics, no gun control at all, eliminating the Federal Income Tax, cut defense and spending, and running campaigns on privately donated money. The Libertarian Party believes in absolute economic and social freedom. The party believes the only role of government should be protecting people and property against injury. The party believes that government should not regulate the economy at all. Government should only protect a business owner?s property and resources. Compared with the two parties in power currently, the Libertarian Party would not be consistent with either party?s agenda and is unique in its own political aspects.
...and has its goods. I’ve chosen to go for the green party because the majority of there beliefs I agree with as opposed to the other parties. I feel that the Green Party really wants to be the party of the people rather than for the people. They give of more of the justice vibe, rather than “just us”. In all reality the Democrats and Republicans are one in the same. Although they are said to be different but if you look closely they really aren’t. Their beliefs are worded differently but in the end, they all want the same thing, money and power. We want change and are always begging for change, yet don’t take the first step. Change begins with us and I say The Green Party will bring us that change, a democracy begins when you get involved. The people want a part that is represented by them and it has become clear that the only party that does that is the Green Party.
But with stronger beliefs in the testing and tuition areas. The Green Party believes testing has gotten out of hand and the schools are no longer focusing on material, the students are not learning they are just learning to pass and they are not retaining the material. Tuition fees are causing debt in most teens and young adults. Green Party believes in free schooling making it easier for students with very low income families to send their many children to school to further their education (States, The Green Party of the
The origins of the Green party began in 1984. They were known as the Committees of Correspondence. As time passed, the Committed of Correspondence became centralized and began forming governing bodies and platforms that ranges from protecting the environment to pro-labor agenda to human rights and social justice. By 1990, the party became known as the Green and during this time, division between the party arose over electoral strategies. One of the members, Petra Kelly, found that electoral politics was corrupting and supported the idea of an “anti party party” ("A Brief History of the Green Party"). While, others viewed electoral politics as a needed engine for social change. The struggle over the direction of the organization ended shortly with a compromise, where both strategies would be incorporated within the same political organization, which was renamed the Greens/Green Party USA.

From last few years there are plenty of good companies telling their environmental stories to the world and even some who are not but should be. Some do it well; others do not know where to begin or how to go about it. There are a few tips on what to look for by a customer who does not get greenwashed.
The Green movement began in the Western World during the 1970’s around the time of the Vietnam War. The green movement is a social movement regarding concerns for environmental conservation and improvements to the current health of the environment. The Green movement also promotes the conservation, restoration, and the overall improvement of our environment. Many people disagree with the green movement and its values because they don’t see the immediate benefits from them. However, supporting the green movement by recycling, researching alternative energy sources, and mandating eco-friendly laws will lead to a better, greener, country.
